It just amazes me how people claim to be unbiased yet their actions prove other wise.Had this been a CCIW or some other major conference this would story would have a Huge picture and a related story.mmmmmmmm,Something like.........2006 Jostens winner Signs with So AND So or something like that.Just boggles my mind folks!!!! No, I don't. Three CCIW first-teamers have signed professional contracts with teams in Europe this summer: Chris Martin of Elmhurst with a team in Luxembourg, and Keelan Amelianovich and Adam Dauksas of Illinois Wesleyan with a team in Spain. Did any of them get front-page stories? No. None of the three even got so much as a link, and at least Braier got one of those. (I doubt that either Elmhurst or Illinois Wesleyan put out press releases about the signings, which would explain the lack of links.) Did any of the other D3 basketball players who signed with pro teams overseas -- and I don't doubt for a minute that there were others besides Braier and the three CCIWers -- get a story on the front page? No. There was a link to a story about Washington University's Chris Jeffries signing with a Chilean pro team, and that's it.

And I sure hope that you're not equating Braier's signing with some team in Denmark with Devean George signing with the Dallas Mavericks. There's a night-and-day difference between the two, and you know it. If Pat hadn't done a front-page story on George's signing, it would've been irresponsible on his part and would've constituted the sort of major omission that could compromise this website's status as the primary clearinghouse of D3 basketball information on the internet. For a former D3 player to sign with an NBA team is a big deal, and Pat's as well aware of that as anybody.

Lose the persecution complex already, Justin. It's getting old.

Yesterday in shootaround Senior Doug Ticus stubbed his middle toe and missed a shot as a result. I am just incensed tht D3hoops either (1) hasn't heard about it or (2) refuses to print the story. Not only does the MWC get no respect but you NEVER TALK ABOUT GRINNELL!!!!!! I'm just sick of it and want it to change now or I will defect to some other site that will listen to me and make Grinnell a household name. Maybe even get it the national press is deserves but has never received.

It's okay.  Grotberg performed surgery and Ticus only missed 2 minutes.

Sagermeister:

You are right on the mark...please remember not to lump all LU fans into the whiner category.  I think D3Hoops has added greatly to D3, MWC, and LU pub.  Braier has been written about as much as anyone.   While I will always root for LU and the MWC, I have not lost track of the fact that the MWC has done very, very poorly in post-season play in most sports, including b-ball, with the exception of LU b-ball the last three years.   The restrictions on recruiting and # of games, along with the tuition will generally keep the MWC at a lower level than the WIAC and CCIW(though the no redshirt rule has helped level the playing field with the WIAC).  You see more 6' 8" and above kids on those rosters. It makes the b-ball no less entertaining......in fact I think that MWC ball is more entertaining to watch than the WIAC.....seems to be a more open brand of ball.

Can't wait for the season this year......little old MWC /LU taking on WIAC powers Point and Oshkosh and CCIW's Carthage.

Justin, in addition to what has already been said, I think it's also important to remember that this is Pat's HOBBY, and that this site really only makes enough money from the ads to sustain itself... barely. If you've been paying attention you'd know that Pat recently switched jobs and is in the process of moving his family hundreds of miles away. Without a "base of operations" to update the page, and all the work of finding a new place to live, settling in, etc.... its not like it's easy to keep up on this side of the d3land considering that it's still the offseason and it probably takes all his energy and support staff (which also work on a volunteer basis) during this transition just to keep the football side running.

Do I need to remind you that Pat was a key part of the committee of people who voted Braier as the Jostens winner in the first place.  ???

Incidentally... jeffp... hilarious! Should I send the injured player cookies? And Hoops Fan, you continue to be a master of hyperbole. Good stuff guys.

I'm afraid you'll need to be more specific JeffP................... Grinnell Mutual is an insurance underwriter, The Grinnell System is a method of joining slotted steel pipe and of course there is Grinnell College. Which do you feel is not getting it's proper respect?  :D  ;D  :D

VirginMobile hasn't improved their coverage area since I last tried them two years ago (that's yaren for you BattleStar Galactica fans) so enter Alltel. The new official cellular provider of The New Roop Order. Nothing says NRO Compliance like a flip/camera phone for $34.99

You should have went through US Cellular. The Roop would have looked good with his live video shooting RAZOR phone from US Cellular. The NRO AND THE RAZOR would have been a perfect fit.

I know a few people that have the RAZOR and, without exception, they all have had to send them in for repairs. Cool and sleek isn't very cool and sleek when they don't work and you are forced to use the generic replacement phone you get for a few months. I can't personally speak for US Cellular, but I know of other NRO Members that have it and they seem pleased enough.

"Parts Unknown" is where I do most of my traveling so I didn't feel like sinking a bunch of money in a phone before I knew if I could get service or not. With Alltel I actually have more bars in "parts unknown" than I do when I'm at home. Not sure how that makes sense but that's how it works.
