I am happy you are so pleased with your statistical analysis of your supremacy on the fields, tracks, hardcourts, etc.  ::)

We are also pleased that your CCIW graduates are available at a living age to work for the companies we own and operate.  ;)

Why, there goes my North Park forklift driver on his lunch break.  :D

I have absolutely no idea what a "living age" is, but I sure am happy to hear that it is available for those of us who are CCIW graduates.

Sager,  I have to agree that when numbers and statistics enter into the equation, the trash talk becomes a bit suspect.

That's what we slobbering CCIW grads do in the MWC Factory of Abstract Thinking. We punch the numbers into the forklift and use it to take out the trash for Boss Fancypants and his Negative 188 Karma.  ;)

Actually I never heard that rumor about Carroll. Seems I invented it last year on the CCIW board and Mr. Sager and I had a good time with it. It's basically an off shoot of a Coe/Cornell joke favored by many Grinnell fans. Sorry, but I can't be original all the time.

Beloit College welcomes you to the Flood Arena and the 2007 MWC Tournament. In the first game.............. oh wait. I shouldn't say any more as I was time traveling again.

The Roop,

I'll trust you that you may have RE-invented it independently, but that joke goes back to the Garden of Eden when the serpent taunted the departing Adam and Eve that 'this raises the average IQ of both the Garden and the rest of the world'!

Well, OK, maybe it is not THAT old, but I've heard it with (insert names or schools here) for probably 50 years.  And I suspect it already had long whiskers when I first heard it!

Yet it STILL remains a pretty good taunt! ;D

Mr. Ypsi

An historical illustration just occurred to me.  It is said (I can find no documentation to prove it) that when the Ohio-Michigan 'war' (culminating in Ohio getting Toledo and Michigan getting the UP) was settled, a wag chimed in that the transfer of Toledo "raised the average intelligence of both states".

The Roop

An historical ?? Shouldn't that be "A historical". Like as not academia has gone array as it appears to me. LOL.

One thing that Mr. Sager did not point out is the fact that Carroll was dual affiliated for many years during their CCIW membership and they focused more on the NAIA spectrum than they did on D3. To quote an old friend and North Park grad B. Swanburg "Carroll does pretty well in the D4 tourney" snicker snicker.

Two things:

1) Ohio got Toledo in a "war" with Michigan?  They must have lost.

2) It is "an" historical for some reason.  It must go back to british accents where you can't hear the "h" very well.  Also, I'm told proper pronunciation even in America makes the "h" very soft and almost inaudible, which leads to the "an."

It didn't quite reach 'war' status, but militias on both sides were mobilized before Congress stepped in.  I'd agree that Michigan got the better of it!

The Roop

An beating.........

Beloit is down 34-0 at half time. Thankfully Ripon missed an extra point or it would be worse. The new "system" is nice but I think there comes a time when you simply need to run out of the "I". Everybody knew that this would be a tough year with so many graduating but it's time to circle the wagons I think. Allow the seniors to have some dignity.

Regarding being eligible and full-time status: One exception to the rule is that a student-athlete can be part-time and still be eligible his final semester if he/she is taking the final courses necessary to finish his/her degree.

Is that how Sager had time to play in his last semester and had time to get nominated for the Pulitzer?

So you need to just get him to drop a class and pick it up in the spring.  No problem.
