Does anyone know when the D3hoops preseason top 25 comes out?

Do you expect Lawrence and Carroll to start in the Top 25?

I am sure Lawrence will be reawrded for last season with a ranking in the high teens, while I expect Carroll to be "receiving votes." It seems like LU will be dependent on some freshman this year, so Carroll may be more deserving a high ranking early in the year.

On another board, Pat said it would be c. Nov 1.

I haven't taken a careful look at returnees and recruits, so will pass on your other predictions.

I heard UW-Oshkosh will be ranked # 2 in the opening poll.

I don't know, the d3hoop.com voters are pretty knowledgeable.  They'll know that Larry lost two seniors and that Carroll is bringing most of their team back.  I think that will be reflected in the poll; just a hunch.

Regarding the D3 hoops poll.....I would argue the voters are not knowledgeable when it comes to pre-season.   I was shocked last year when LU was not even ranked in the preseason when they had the core of the team back and had been one of the winningest(sp?) teams in the country the previous two years.  The pre-season polls just seem to vote for the traditional powers.....for instance, I think Gustavas was rated in the pre-season poll......this made no sense as LU beat the crap out of them at their place in the NCAA tourney the year before and Gustavas lost their star player.  Likewise, Oshkosh was number 2 in the poll last year.

I think it takes 6-8 games for things to shake out.

I would not necessarily think LU will be in the pre-season poll(nor do they necessarily deserve to be until some of the questions are answered.)  I think the early Stevens Point and Carthage games will say a lot.  However, I would not put Carroll ahead of them.  Like LU, they lost a lot....their long term starting point guard as well as their best big guy Shepler.   In addition, they were not near as deep as LU last year.    Also, I have heard one or two of their guys may not have returned.

via the conference website.  Lawrence is ranked #18 in the d3 news pre-season poll.

#18th ?

That  is so wrong.  ::)

I can't believe how little respect we get.  ::)

Pat probably will hotlink the CCIW website to his banner this year.  ::)

I can't believe how unfair the world is.  ::)

I think I'll protest on College Ave. tonight.  ::)

Um.  That's not Pat's poll that has them at #18.  It must be some other poll.

I'll make the caveat.  They may just be totally biased about the MWC, but they will be informed enough to know that Lawrence lost a lot more than Carroll, so their rankings, when compared to each other, should be fairly accurate.

Nut, I'm not sure the Carthage game will tell us a lot about Lawrence.  The Red Men were 6-8 in the CCIW last year (6th place) and they lost their leading scorer to UW-Parkside (Kyle Jeffery, 18.3 ppg).  Carthage may turn out to be competitive this year, but chances are they will struggle again.  As well-coached as Lawrence is and as consistent as that program has become, that could be a lopsided game in Appleton...even in a "reloading" year.

I think that your protesting on College Avenue should begin and end at Cleo's(where it's Christmas every day)... mine usually does! Some of my best nights(followed by some of my worst mornings) are a direct result of College Ave.

T2K,

Can't join you tonight on College Ave tonight but I have half a mind to go to the BC-LU football game tomorrow. I figure hit the nickel about 11:30AM for a warm up and plan the day from there. College Ave on a payday weekend............. Sounds like a bad idea so I'm liking it even more.

Citizens of the NRO............. If you have a good joke there's no need to tell me in a pm, you're free to post it on the boards. Since you have negelected to do so I have no choice but to claim it as my own and tell it first.

Hmmmmm......seems to me I've heard this quote before......good scoop Roop ;D

College Avenue on payday?  sounds dangerous!

TY gobucs.

Telling it as it is runs in my family. It can be traced all the way back to the Roman Empire when my ancestor Roopus Augustus used to dictate the results of the D3 Gladiator matches and have his scribes post the scrolls outside the coliseum.
