I recall he counted each week-- one more loss for Ripon and one less week for Braier.  Easy math with such a good marker as the many losses of the RedHacks.  ;D

Nice.  But I think to be considered a hack, you would have to play defense first.
(sorry RC guys I couldn't resist the comment)

I apologize to the Ripon fans.  That was an honest error in spelling on my part.  ::)

And an honest response from Early who knows what he saw on the court in 2005/06 from Ripon.

Is anybody aware of any MWC exhibition-type games this weekend?  I heard that U of C is at North Central College, and Carthage at Aurora, but I'm wondering if by any chance Lake Forest, Beloit, or maybe Carroll have anything in the offing?

Lawrence handled Edgewood easily in a scrimmage last night in Appleton.  My buddy said they played six 10 minute games and that LU won 5 and tied one and played 21 players.

Shouldn't you already know how they look this year, weren't you there recently for an open gym of sorts ??

My half day vacation on Friday was originally scheduled to see Midnight Madness. However, with the volleyball team hosing the MWC Tournament, Midnight Madness was moved up to Thursday so I missed it. NRO field staff was on hand however and I'm told, as expected, that it should be a good year. Midnight Madness went well save for a member of the staff excessively brown nosing a recruit that is probably an automatic anyway.

In lieu of Midnight Madness, Domenicos became the Friday Night activity. And it was enjoyed in excessive quantities. They don't have Rolling Rock on tap anymore but Killians Red is a worthy substitute. It's not a real pizza unless the cheese is at least as thick as the crust. Dad wanted thin crust (avoid it, Domenicos hasn't perfected that yet) and mom didn't want pepperoni so I offered a compromise of regular crust with sausage and green olives. Perfect as always.

So that you all may sleep well tonight, mom got her straw to cover her flower beds at the campground next weekend. To my knowledge this straw is camel safe.

Anna Maria's is out of state......................

That would be like going to Grinnell and getting a Roopacinno at some place other than Saints Rest. These things simply aren't done.

That's like taping the SuperBowl then pretending you're watching it live.  :D

I agree.  If the pie is in a box at any point between when it comes out of the oven and when you eat it, it's not real pizza.

Well, I guess if it's ever in a box, it's not real pizza, because if you heat up a frozen pizza from the store its technically not in a box between the oven and the plate, but still, you know.

I have to disagree here.  Cause if this is true then The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles never ate real pizza.  And when I think of crazy pizza fanatics I consider them to be on the top.

Yes, but if you really think about it, the Ninja Turtles were (are) far too cool to worry about whether their pizza is real or not, so long as it tastes good and supplies the vital nutrients that irradiated, talking turtles need to fight insane, ambiguously asian samurai masters.

It's not that I have a problem with Anna Marias, their pies are quite good, it's just that they don't qualify  for All-MWC Recognition as they are a few blocks out of state. Whereas Domenicos is only a few blocks from campus.

Most of the local places in the Beloit Metropolitan area (LMAO) are quite good, although Vinces can be a hit and miss proposition. It's either great or average at best; depends on who is working I suppose. None of the "real" pizza places use boxes for delivery however, instead they have the standard white paper bag with the same Italian Chef depicted as everybody else. Despite it's popularity I would never place Tilleys very high on the list, yet many swear by it. It's certainly not bad, and they have mastered the thin crust. A little more flavor would be nice however. I do like the postage stamp sized square cuts though.

Where the Turtles fit into all of this is hard to say. As they started out as characters in a nearly X rated role playing game I hesitate to consider their opinion on such a serious subject. And they sold out to a national chain, Dominos, when the movies came out. (which I never bothered watching) So I'm not sure they ever have had a "real" pizza to begin with.

Carroll has posted their roster and Toshner is not on it.  In addition Stratton who I thought was one of the best Freshman (first years for you Beloit fans) I saw last year is not back (a shame, I heard he was in line to become rush chairman......damn glad to meet your) as well as several other underclassmen off of last years roster.

Will be interesting to see if they can maintain an upper level finish.
