Hmm.... made up at a later date?  You think they'll play a double-header?!  That'd be sweet! :D

Good thing everybody is playing in Wisconsin this weekend. Looks like quite a front will be moving through IA and IL on it's way towards Chicago tomorrow.

Not sure if there's a rule against quoting yourself but in this case I must.

For a conference supposedly comprised of akademic skools, the MWC can't seem to take a hint. So the next time I say there's a major front coming through it means to LEAVE ON THURSDAY to make your games.

I think this was a good call considering the distance that some of the Illinois schools and parents have to travel. I know Monmouth takes a nice parent fan base with them everywhere and it was a good idea not to put them in any danger.

Carthage, who Carroll beat earlier in the week, beat #5 Hope by 6 tonight.

The start time for the Monmouth at Lawrence contests on Saturday, December 2 have been pushed back a half hour. The women's game will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Just wait until next year.

Its the administations fault
Its admissions fault
Its Knapton's fault
The school is too hard to get in to
The refs don't like us
The kids don't respond to the game plan

There, I feel better now

The Roop

I'm a bit surprised they shot 41% from the floor because it seemed they couldn't buy one in the first half. A Dowden heave at the buzzer was the only 3 they managed in the first 20 minutes. Stats are pretty much even so I don't know how this one got away. All I know is they need to break 60 soon. Very frustrating.

Horton appeared to be under the weather so hopefully he will be feeling better tomorrow. 3 points in 23 minutes isn't exactly a norm for him.

I agree that Wimmer is coming along nicely. Going into the year he was labelled as a project but is ahead of schedule in my opinion. Needs to be a little more aggressive on the offensive end but that will come. Reminds me of John Erickson in that regard and he turned out pretty good.

In other games...

LU 91 Monmouth 63 20 for Kroger for LU
Carroll 136 Grinnell 134
Grotberg 37 for GC, Colomy 25 for CC

Carroll hits 1 free throe with 2.5 seconds to give them a 135-134 lead, 2nd free throw missed, GC rebounds, calles TO, but throws ball away on imbounds and CC adds one more free throw with .8 left

After getting pounded by Lawrence yesterday, Monmouth comes back with a very nice road victory over Carroll.  The Grinnell hangover strikes again.

Carroll blows a 10 point halftime lead to lose 83-81 to Monmouth.

Just when Beloit was about to run IC off the court, some timely IC 3s and careless ballhandling on Beloits part brought IC back in the game in a hurry. Although I'm sure Beloit could have won 201-78 if they really wanted to.

Horton wasn't 100% today but he looked much better and hit the game winner with 15 seconds left. Personally I would have waited until under 10 to look to score but all's well that ends well. Now that frat initiation week is over with I expect Horton to remain healthy the rest of the way. The oafs, whom had done a respectable job most of the game, gave IC one more chance with 2.5 left. The oaf at midcourt overruled the official on the baseline, where the ball went out of bounds, and gave it to IC. The inbound was tipped, (Puls I think) Fieck grabbed it and tossed it to the other end of the court to kill the clock. Very Mike Hargrove-like vs. Ripon in 1980, only Mike threw the ball up in the rafters to ice it.

Dropping this one after having lead for most of the game may have scuttled the Bucs this year but they maintained composure and got off the schneid. 1-4 might not sound much better than 0-5 but believe me it is.

Roop,

Be careful what you wish for!  Lincoln is catching all sorts of grief (especially from me!) for that shameful game on MANY boards.  When you are up 100+ and still doing full court press, that is a coach I don't want in d3 (they are moving to d2 next year).

The Roop

Mr. Ypsi,

Did somebody from Beloit College or the NCAA buy you a Lexus to post that ?? Pat has already confirmed that the Lincoln starters averaged only 13 minutes in that game. It was non-conference for both schools and OSU-Marion didn't belong in that tournament in the first place. I say score all you want Lincoln. Not sure how a USCAA vs. D3 game counts for anything in the first place. ala Ralph Turner.
