Mr. Ypsi

Nope, I just checked - no Lexus! :'(

I just think that to keep piling on points on a team that would lose to my local high school team is just a WEE bit out of d3 norms.

They were still doing full court press when they were ahead by 100+ points - is that sane or decent?

A kid stole a ball when they were up by 100+; despite NO defender between him and the basket, he made a three - is that sane or decent?

I don't think there is anyway that Lincoln can defend their behavior. :(

Scots4

This behavior by lincoln is ridiculous. I do not care if they are USCAA or not, this is uncalled for. Robert Morris-Springfield is a USCAA team that is very competitive at the D3 and D2 level and I know they would not appreciate action like this. Lincoln get a grip on your behavior and do not disrespect opponents like this. Yeah you got your name in the paper but for what cost?

BTW, congrats to the Scotties for a major road win.

The only problem was having an All-American starter in the game in the second half.

We went through all this a few years ago in the MWC when Grinnell doubled up Monmouth 152-76. I frowned on that because it was a conference opponent. I'm certainly not encouraging or condoning Lincolns actions but what goes around comes around. Lincoln will get it handed to them someday and that will likely break them of this habit. Once they move to D2 no one will ever hear of them again; much like becoming Vice President.

Roop,

One final clarification, then I'll drop it.  Pat's initial statement that the starters averaged less than 13 minutes turned out to be very misleading.  Lincoln obviously knew it was a total mismatch before it even began, because they started mostly end-of-the-bench players - i.e., the starters in THAT game were NOT their usual starters.  Their USUAL starters averaged well over 20 minutes each, and 36 of their LAST 56 points were scored by AA candidate Sami Wylie (a real slap to former teammate Kyle Myrick whose scoring record came in a game where Lincoln needed every one of his 62 points).

I also have a much harsher criticism of Lincoln's coach and their performance after looking at the numbers.  I posted more specifics on the Bumblin' Bs board, but it was a travesty.

No, a travesty was the 72 Gold Medal game in which the Soviets got as many chances as they needed to eventually win the game. The Lincoln contest was merely a lopsided affair.

I'm off on a little recruiting trip tonight, to see next years POY in the MWC. I don't mind doing it I just wish Beloit would throw in a little something for my effort. Maybe mileage and per diem. I timed it after work today and it's nearly 9 minutes each way. Hard city driving too, think of the wear and tear on my vehicle. LOL.

PS. Better deliver that Lexus I've been promising the parents or he may go elsewhere.

With all the good fun and laughs this board provides, I guess higher authorities from BC read it also.  Obviously not taken with good humor, I guess "per diem, mileage and lexus" are now "naughty" words in the BC handbook.  LOL...... ::) Personally, I like BMW's better.......

The Roop

You must forgive me as I'm a mere high school grad. Per diem is just a phrase I saw on a latin language website once (LoggusOnnus.com) and have no idea what it really means, I was just trying to sound important.:'(  Mileage I can deduct on taxes myself so I wouldn't need the Colleges help. Lexus is obviously an acronym but I forgot to include the ....... between the letters. It means Licensed Experienced Xylophone Undercoating Specialists. Maybe the parents of the recruit in question both play the xylophone and a xylophone can never have too much undercoating as far as I'm concerned. Given the extensive xylophone department that Beloit College has it would be a good thing if their son went there. I doubt that the NCAA would mind if he helped out his parents in such a manner.

Roop,

Given that clarification, I'm sure glad I didn't find a Lexus in my driveway - I don't even HAVE a Xylophone!  And who knows what they might then decide to undercoat?! ;D

+k to you, sir!

[Edit: I just realized I forgot the earlier discussion that if you were not at 0 karma, the world might end!  Will my pushing you EVEN further into positive territory doom my REAL karma if the world spins off its axis and causes the end of all life on 'the third planet from the sun'?  Or would that mean my REAL karma is rendered moot? ???]

I gave up last week.  Let's call it a Thanksgiving resolution.  If you all want the world to implode upon itself and phase into another dimension, so be it.

Beasts and Bunnies. That appears to be the theme for GC this early part of the year. As Carroll will attest, this team is loaded with talent but very young. As St Norbert will attest, when they are off they are WAY off. I'm sure the goal this year is to peak later in the season and things are lining up for that to happen. Wednesdays game with Monmouth should be a great one since Monmouth looks to be much improved. GC may be a year away, but I'd rather have nothin' to do with that cliche'. Too stinkin' much talent! This team MUST work within the guidlines to win. With maturity that will happen. Look out when it does!

I just wanted to congratulate Dave McMullen on his eight steals against Knox last Saturday, which eventually gave him the all-time lead in steals at Ripon passing the Legend Tommy Becker.  He's also 4th all-time on the assists list behind some good ones (kohl, Clark, Young).  For a guy, to my knowledge, that hasn't gotten an all-conference selection, he's a had a pretty good career.  Let's hope he can add a championship to these honors.
