Drumroll Please..........................

Actually, once I posted I then had to figure out a way to score the darn thing.  Dcided to go with assigning one point for every position a team was missed by (if you picked someone third and they were sixth that was three points) with lowest total winning.

The winner with an amazing 2 points was Hoops Fan

Other scores:

Go Bucs - 6
Early - 8
Roop - 9
Jeff P  - 12

Actual records:

1.  Lawrence    94-47
2.  Ripon           80-61
3.  St Norberts  78-63
4.  Grinnell        75-66
5.  Lake Forrest 74-67
6.  Carroll          69-72
7.  Illinois College  60-81
7.  Monmouth    60-81 (I scored a zero if you had either of these 7-8)
9.  Knox             56-85
10 Beloit           49-92

Wow.  It's amazing what dumb luck will get you.  I'm not sure I deserve coffee for that one.  And the teams I messed up were only off my one game?  Crazy.

I really must apologize for winning this; it's a bit embrassing for all of us.

Just want to wish all the folks on the MWC board a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, which should include a 4th straight MWC championship for the Lawrence Vikings.  We didn't win the "Super Bowl" last Monday, but I think we'll survive.

Yup, the folks are getting old. They pay enough attention to get each other what they want but don't pay enough attention when buying anything to make sure it will actually work. LOL. Needless to say they will have a few items to return tomorrow. Fortunately I saw the Magic Christmas Possum today so I will be able to help them. Seeing the MCP makes you want to trade in a giftcard you didn't really need for something for your folks that they didn't really get.

Whether the Magic Christmas Possum becomes a main stay on the board as kimchee, spam and haikus have I don't know. But when we got to Grandpas for dinner today there was a possum in the backyard finishing off the remains of some microwave lasagna. I thought possums had better taste than that......... In any event, he magically disappeared before I could get around the garage to take a picture of him so you'll just have to believe me. However, sans pics, I can assure you this is no Charlie Brown Great Pumkin hoax.

Keep up the recruiting efforts Roop.  As for me, all I want post Christmas for my Bucs is a coach who has ties to the school, is thought highly of by just about every high school coach in the state of Wisconsin and has compiled a 52-1 record over the past 2 + seasons at the high school level including a state championship.

If only someone like that was out there and willing to take the job. ;)

New Roop City-South hit the road and laid waste to a non-conference opponent Thursday night. I'm sure people from at least two MWC schools were there to see "Recruit X" play. Possibly one non-MWC team had people there too as I've seen them up here in New Roop City recently. I just wish high schools would include GPAs and ACT scores in their game programs. It would make my recruiting efforts much easier as I can't work with everybody's dad and have access to these things.

As for your "Dream Coach" in question. I'm not sure if it would be much of a promotion for him to take a D3 job, more of a lateral move given his previous college experience. No offense to D3 or Beloit College intended. And because of his previous college coaching experience and high school success I doubt he'd stay at Beloit/D3 for long. So why bother in the first place ?? All I know for sure is that you can't coach shooting percentage and that has been an issue for the Bucs this year. Two more non-conference BEATINGS for the Bucs to get their heads on straight and then it all gets serious when conference play resumes. You can't win when you don't have the mindset to and that falls on the players. YES BUCS, you've been served........................

Upcoming RoopVegas lines: Take Elmhurst -18.5 and Aurora -11.5*

*I wouldn't bet too heavy on that Aurora game, they recently lost to Edgewood afterall. Let Welton have 50 and they don't break 65.

I'm considering going to the Beloit @ Elmhurst game on Saturday night. Thing is, I'm sorry to say that I'd probably go just as much for the Elmhurst alumni game beforehand as for the actual varsity game itself, which looms as a far less entertaining spectacle. Any chance you guys might be heading southward across the Lombardi-Halas Line for the game, Roop and Dolph?
