I was unaware they were going to neutral sites in this league. :)

Think he meant Volleyball, or perhaps Soccer.

Beloit is now 69-142 under the current coach, darn that overscheduling.

Dolph,

you should apply for the head coaching job at Beloit. You oviously know what it takes to win at Beloit and winning is everything, the only thing that matters and I'm sure you could turn this program around in just a year or 2.

Just wondering however, have you ever sat in on practices, talk to Coach Youngblood in person or even know what type of person and the kind of character and integrity the man has? But its about wins and losses.

BTW, how long has the head coach been at the school with the 2nd worse record in the MWC. not much worse than Beloit. Just wondering why theres no outcry for that coaches head on the chopping block. Hmmmmm, what is the big difference between these 2 coaches...what could it be?

Is the head coaching job open?  Would I have to move to Beloit?  Is Bruisers still open?  How about the Bear Chest?  Can I bring back the Alumni game?

No thanks, I would rather sing the National Anthem.  Any idea how to get that gig?

Everyone needs to settle down....I'm sure the coaching staff is as frustrated as the fans are.

From the games that I've witnessed, the heart and hustle are there, and that truly comes down from the coaching staff.  Coach Y is a great guy and he passes that attribute onto his players.  Personally, I think he gets the most out of the talent he has.  Quality of depth has been a problem, but I know for a fact they are actively recruiting from competitive HS programs.

Many BC athletes feel, that as an athlete, you are almost "looked down" upon.  It's simply not a priority with the current administration.  I'm not blaming the administration for the lack of basketball success, but it is part of the whole picture.  A student/athlete that graduates from BC has a very high academic standard and athletics are just part of the total "experience."

I know that winning makes everything better, but until we all walk in their shoes, whom are we to judge?

Go Bucs,

While I respect your perspective, I simply can't agree with this statement.  The current adminsitation has funded the hiring of the schools first full time AD, Hired a Swimming coach, solicited funds to hire a full time assistant coach for football, funded a part time position of recruiting coordinator for all sports  and made a total overhaul of the outdoor track a major part of the current fundraising campaign.

With the full support of the Administration, the new AD has instituted a number of changes in various coaching staffs and Beloit produced their first ever Volleyball championship and first Mens Soccer championship (regular season) in over 30 years this fall.  While football struggled under their first year coach, numbers are up for incoming players.  The previous adminisration seemd to have a total lack of understanding of D3 sports,  what it took to attract athletes and be competitive in the MWC.  Decisions were made based on being able to "feel good" about what had been done rather than on doing what was right.  I simply don't see that with the current administration.

No mom, I don't want to settle down. We even have Pat involved now and that doesn't happen very often unless we're arguing about an obscure rule.

The Bare Chest is still there, albeit not very impressive and Bruisers is now Taasbags Too. It has been remodeled to the point where you wouldn't recognize it but the food is still good. Not sure how you can get the singing gig.

Roop,

Thanks for the update.  I'm not sure the bear chest (thought that was how it was spelled since there is a picture of a bear on the sign) was ever that impressive but it was a great deal of fun.

How about Iron Works?

The Roop

It's just called "The Works" now.

Ok, that's great.....then BC should be headed in the right direction ;D   Dolph, with the help of NRO-SAS, I'm sure you could be the director of the pep band......LOL

Believe me, if I had a good job offer come in, I'd be all over it.  They just changed the curriculum for my master's program and aren't going to be offering four of classes I still need after this summer.

Don't sell out the Bucs before the game is even played. The Warhawks are not the world-beaters that both you and the D3hoops.com pollsters are making them out to be. UWW only beat lowly Marian of the NAthCon by four this evening, 74-70, and it wasn't one of those "deceptively close" scores, either. Marian had a four-point lead going into the last quarter, and they were down by a single possession with under twenty seconds left in the game.

Doesn't sound to me like Whitewater falls into the "quality" wins category. Unless of course somebody from the CCIW beats them. Then they've just upset Duke or something like it.

Your snark aside, Elmhurst's win over UWW was hardly an upset of any sort. But the Warhawks are a good team -- they were simply overrated at #4 in the preseason poll. I've seen them; they have some serious talent, a lot of depth, and a good coach in Pat Miller. They had some issues to sort through at the beginning of the season, but I'm pretty sure that they'll make their usual strong run at a WIAC title, although my early guess is that they aren't the favorites in that league anymore.

Beating the Warhawks was most certainly a quality win for Elmhurst. On the other hand, beating Beloit by only 15 wasn't one. ;)

Beloit goes down by 12 tonight to Aurora.  While I joked about Roop's comment about the Buc's difficult NC schedule, there is not question that Belioit chose to play a number of teams that were clearly much better than they were.

My question to the board is do you think that for a team like Beloit (middle to lower end of the MWC, not talking about LU here)  it makes sense to load up with the likes of Augie, Whitewater, Carthage and Elmhurst for the NC schedule?  On one hand, it  can be argued that playing this diffiuclt NC schedule helps to prepare a team and could certainly help in a MWC that seems to be down this year.  On the other hand, it can be argued that playing teams that in many ways overpower a club does not  allow them to work on the things offensively and defensively that they need to develop going in to a conference season.  Or, on the third hand ;) is Doris Day right when she  states that "what will be will be" and NC scheduling has little to do with how the conference season turns out?

Lookin for thoughts from the posters on this board who always prove a very astute group.
