I have to say I'm real pleased watching this team from afar.  If they go to the tourney and play in the Pacific NW I will try my best to go see their game(s).

You all thought I wasn't serious when I posted (twice) that LU won't win another game this year.  Do you still wonder.  They rebound like little girls and if they do win, it will be because they start rebounding.  The number of multiple chances the Scots got last night was sickening  :'(  Monmouth really isn't very good, LU made them look at least average last night with the second and third chance inside baskets.

Now, while I think my prediction is correct, here's my dream scenario.  LU ends up 4th in the MWC and gets to play the Circus at Grinnell in the first round.  Tharp pulls out all the stops and puts Grotberg and the kid with the bad headband in the bleachers for the rest of the season  ;) Whether LU wins the next night and goes to the NCAA tourney is immaterial; defeating those fouling clowns form Iowa is what my dream is about.

Yes, the LU season has me in an owly mood.  I'll feel better when Recruit X is here next year.  ;)

Nope. Too close to home, the folks could sneak in and surprise him at any time. He's going to Ripon and that's the end of it. I'll start selling the idea on Monday.

GC 93, SNC 66.  GC controlled the game. SNC did a good job at times of shutting down the 3 point game, JohnG was cold in the 1st half but warmed up, Jr. was absolutely awesome, Schmidt, Longehan, and Long all made significant contributions.
Threes are better than twos....

Just logged by in after dinner. Thanks for the updates.

Man, after the last couple of years, this has to be hard for Larry fans.

Great week for Grinnell. I think they're definitely in the driver's seat. Ten wins in a row is absolutely great. Let's make it 11.

But man, look out for LFC.

Maybe it's because no one representing them posts here, but they're flying in under the radar. Their win today puts them in the tournament (I think), and they've won five of their last six including wins at Ripon, at Carroll, and against Larry. LFC has already beat Grinnell this year, so that gives them wins against the other three (current) tournament teams. Grinnell better be ready to play next Saturday, because the game in the beginning of January was very close.

Actually, as I looked at it, Norbs has played one more game than LFC and appears to own the tie breaker if the two teams tie.

Grinnell has now become the complete team that GC fans have been waiting to see for 3 years. Congrats on an unbelievable weekend!

One of you sent me an off site Email suggesting the GC would have no legs today. Still think that? ;D :D ;D

TOTAL TEAM PERFORMANCE!!!

More tomorrow morning. Gotta go play with the grand kids!

BTW< Kieth Chamberlain, Andrew thinks you are the BEST! He won't have to do much to convince me either!

Still a total team show going on here!

Looking at the box score http://www.midwestconference.org/mbasketball/GCSNC2-3.htm this probably wasn't much of a 'system' game in the 2nd half. Norbs only took 20 shots in the 2nd half after being down 19 at the half. In fact, the first Grinnell possession of the 2nd half resulted in a shot being taken 31 seconds after the rebound. Hmmmmm.

Chamberlain and Long also look like they had good games.

Wow, turnovers were 32 for Norbs, 10 for GC. Norbs only shot 41% for the game. Tough to win against GC with that.

One more and then I'm done for the evening... ;)

After GC pulling off the sweep this week, the pressure's squarely on RC to win out in order to host the tournament. Traveling to Larry and then Carroll (and then the other brother Carroll...no...sorry) the next two games makes winning out a tough task. I know Larry's down, but I get the feeling that somehow, they'll find a way to get up for Ripon.

And if GC can win next Saturday, then it may be moot anyway.
