Yes I do not believe MC beating LFC would be an upset. MC won @ LFC when they played one of their worst games of the season.

(should that be capitalized?  Like God?  How does the Grinnell world feel about that?

Everyone in the MWC knows that GC is full of godless heathens....

Or would that be heedless goths?   ;D

That said, I'll take any scenario that involves home games for the tournament.  Are there any stats on hosts winning the MWC?  I'll bet it's pretty good.
A very quick check of the conference site indicates that the host team has won 14 of 17 MWC tournaments. Of course the last host to lose was Grinnell in 2003. Interestingly the #3 seed beat #2 and #1 to win the tournament that year.

And that, of course, was Illinois College. Lets hope they don't have a chance to spoil things for Grinnell this Saturday.

Sea of Red

That one hurt.  I was in the old Darby for it.  The crowd was great, but the shots just wouldn't fall when we needed them.

I don't think MC beating LFC is an upset either.  They're only seperated by two games, and that's not much in conference play.  That said, LFC has a lot to play for right now, with the conference tournment's last slot ripe for the picking.  We'll see if Terwelp and co. can take down the uber-balanced Foresters.

If fact, I don't think I have ever seen balance like that (statistically at least) on a college team.  Check their team page out.  They have two guys averaging 11, and guy at 10 and two more guys in the upper 9s.  That's incredible.  They were always fun to cheer against (good attitudes and such) in my day, and now apparently they have a team that truly buys into the team concept.

So, Quance, YOUR question for the day is...

Do you know "that Girl" ? ;D

The Roop

Here's one from the "Nothings funnier than the truth" page.

Maryville College (SLIAC) had to postpone their screening of Al Gores global warming movie today because of a snow storm.

I love it.

Be careful how you answer that question, Q to the 3rd.   :D
HEY PAL, DON'T BLOCK THE SHOT!

Final

Carroll 89
Ripon 75

Drury with 23 to lead the Pioneers

Better Dead then Red

GC 91, KC 74

The final score doesn't reflect how tight most of the game was. KC played a stronger game than earlier in the season. Excellent team effort on both sides.

Now we await scores from the two biggest games of the night....LU was winning 23-21 at halftime..thats all we got.

Better Dead then Red

MWCSID2005

Lake Forest defeats Monmouth 69-59
Lawrence defeats St. Norbert 71-57

Well...

LU needs to beat CC, and Knox needs to beat LFC for Lu to get in

A guy can hope can;t he??

According to the MWC website, Ripon still hasn't clinched. What happens if LU beats Carroll, LFC beats KC, and Ripon loses to Beloit?
