I've known a few gals named Hope and they were all very snooty. Just because someone is attractive does not make them a hottie. You also have to be nice and not stuck on yourself. Alyss is another one of those names that fits the bill.

WWJD................... I doubt he would fault me for finding someone attractive.

Finding somone physically attractive that is not your spouse to the point of using a word like hot (which to me as always indicated lust) is never appropriate biblically, though we certainly all do it.... I am not, in any way, exempt from that. However, in terms of WWJD... it is quite clear that 1) God purposefully chose to reveal himself as not a hottie when he came to earth, 2) Jesus did not ever interact with people because they were hotties (I'm guessing those lepers probably weren't too attractive) and 3) God doesn't care about the outward appearance but the heart.... unlike almost every guy I've ever known including the Prophet Samuel, which is where the whole quote comes from in the first place.

Because of a previous relationship with an alcoholic don't suggest that I limit my hottie search to barstools because I rarely, if ever, go out anymore. It's offensive to suggest it

Did I ever mention bars? The initial and subsequent comments you made, which I responded to in a nonspecific joking manner, all related to people at basketball games. It's extremely confusing to suggest that I suggested anything like the above, and hurtful.

I don't think you have a bad heart, or a dirty old man... and have never stated that that... on or off the board. but your posts certainly seem to say that you think I do and that I have.... which is a pretty harsh judgment on me, and why I'm reacting the way that I am. One of my chief aims is to try to find reasons to think well of everyone and to try to understand where they're coming from rather than passing judgment... even people who have personally dramatically hurt or sabotaged me. It's a view that changes pity or anger or hatred, into compassion. In the context of the fact that I work so hard to be like this, and you don't seem to think that I am, it makes it a little difficult for me to believe that you think of me as a friend.

I don't ever argue with my good friends, ever. I can't ever think of a time when my two best friends and I have argued. The same is true of almost all of my close friends. I don't think that's because they've never done anything to hurt me or vice versa, but because they understand me and forgive me for my flaws and know me well enough to know when I am just joking!!!

Lust is not finding someone attractive. Lust is finding someone attractive and desiring to be with them. Having said that, my lust for hotties lasts about 5 seconds at a time. Ask any man and he will tell you the same or he is lying. That's not exactly lust either.

You are making yourself out a fool in this argument and you are really trying to end a friendship in the process. Could the morality lesson stop and the basketball discussion resume. My faith always guides more than my religion and you won't change that.

I believe the NRO is about to take up arms in this escalating "Hottie" war. 
The Wheatonites are generally pacifists and should be easily defeated. 
There is some risk that the Shihites at other CCIW schools may interfere on behalf of the pacifist sect.

I most certainly did NOT. I neither frequent bars (unless I am there to be the designated driver) nor do I suggest that other people frequent bars for any purpose.... ever. I have met way to many alcoholics through my current job (you know why) to ever suggest something so destructive to anyone for any reason. You just completely misread whatever I actually said, and are unwilling to admit it.

I honestly never thought I'd say this, since, for the last four years, this board has always been a friendly haven for me when people in my conference were irrationally attacking me. It's the board I chose to make my 1000th post on. But, with Jeff P banned (again) and the fact that I apparently am not allowed to make a joke, it's just not fun anymore. I guess that makes me the person living on the corner of the roof. And I guess that means I will have to give up my job as official MWC advocate on the national scene. People don't make me cry very often, but you have definitely succeeded.

The sooner you admit that you were biologically capable of producing someone who is old enough to be in college, and stop referring to kids that could be your kids as hotties (gross) confine your evaluations of hotties to the barstool and/or personal messages on Posting Up in order to protect yourself from being scorned in an open forum as a dirty old man, the better. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Actually, as evidenced by your post (thank you) Greg said it.

There are a lot of conferences that get only one bid. The CCIW and the WIAC, despite being the most respected conferences got one (though obviously the CCIW only deserved one this year). What I have done from shouting from my corner of the rooftop about the MWC for the last 3-4 years is attempt to get them the respect they always should have had, and already should have earned by their obviously high level of play. And I think it would be unfair that to suggest that I haven't, to at least some degree, succeeded.
