Roop:

I heard Tharp left Appleton today to camp out in New Roop City and discuss zone defense vs the man to man with Recruit X.   He might also remind him that BC won 4 games this year.  And likely will give him 5 free Wooden Nickel tokens, which is a de minimus gift under NCAA rules.

Spoke................. we sat together for an entire game.
Ah yes, but since a pointer fan happened to get both our tickets, we didn't really have a choice of whether we sat together. :P The news is that you didn't ignore me or try to start a fight with me. :D

True, but he and his son could've sat between you two!  Hope you had safe travels back to Cali.  Did you make it to Belts?

He must also remind Recruit X that Braier no longer has any eligibility left at Lawrence.  Undefeated regular season last year to not even making the conference tourney this year.  Ouch.

Yeah, but they were such nice people that I didn't want to put them through that. :D ;)

No, the Hope fans dragged me off to participate in their "we're looser" session. It's pretty hard to top ice cream, but I think they succeeded.... good times. :) Besides, I didn't get your message till I was like halfway to Madison.  :-[

I recall that Stevens Point didn't lock in the win until 1.2 seconds were left in our game this year.   Since Point is the gold standard by which all college basketball is measured  ::), I suspect we should be highly regarded by you.  Doth you jest?

BTW I already give a heafty amount to my alma matter.

Great, so all you have to do is pick a bet and if you lose donate the hefty amount in my name (and I will do the same for you if I lose)

Come on, step up rather than just whining.  What bet do you want?  Will the new coach go worst that 1-20in his first year?  Worse than 4-18 in his second?  Worse than 7-15 in his third?  Will the Bucs be worse than four wins in the 2015-16 season?  Will they make the tournament less than 1 time in the next nine years?  Not enough options for you?  Clearly you have some inside knowledge as you state twice in four lines that you "know certain things" (no doubt relayed to you by the former coaching staff).

Willing to put your money where your mouth is?  My guess is no.  I could pretend to be surprised but I'm not.

Oh, wait I forgot.  This was it.  The recruiting class that (no matter how many players show up next year) if only the former coaching staff had been allowed to stick around was the one that, despite nine years of proving otherwise, would have turned the corner.

How about e-mailing me the names of the kids who had solid (lets go with at least a 3.2)GPA and test scores above 24 who were not admitted to Beloit in the past 5-6 years (not those who chose to go elsewhere who the coaching staff had to find an excuse for ) since you seem to have the inside sources ?  In return, I will provide the list of those who were admitted with either GPA's below that level or test scores that failed to measure up.

I can neither confirm nor deny such events.

True.  ;D  But, this has nothing to do with Point, and it's still a loss.  :P  I doubt Recruit X is going to say to himself, "Wow, they almost beat Point, the gold standard!" lol  :o

Neither LU or Point are in the Recruit X Lottery at this time. So I don't see the purpose of this debate. However, NRO-SAS does have Recruit Y available to the highest bidder for the the 08-09 season. There are BC ties but I'm sure I can work around that for a price.

Y has been evaluated by The Roop in person. The bidding begins now.............

Has Beloit even interviewed anyone for the coaching job? If the hire is done soon, there might still be a chance to pick up a couple of players for next year's class. Most DIII schools have a May 1st application deadline, so hopefully the BC AD will get this done soon. I agree that almost any hire will be an improvement on Cecil Y.

The Roop

There is a list of candidates under consideration and they have done a good job of keeping it a secret. I suspect that we will know next week as to whom the successor is. Possibly sooner depending on how things work out. That's your hint.

Well, that's for the schools who have to turn people down.  The rest of them will usually take applications right up until registration day.  Well, so long as they come with a check.

The all region teams are out and the MWC has/had three of the top 10 players in the Midwest.

Drury makes first team - congrats and well deserved - and Schmitting and Grotberg make second team. For those who bitch about the 'lack of respect' the MWC gets it should be noted that this makes three years in a row that the conference has had three players combined on the first or second team all region. The talent is recognized.
