So is Beloit's new coach, given his late start and Beloit's delays in hiring him,  going to get any quality frosh for next year's team? No news is not good news in this case.

Several of the CCIW schools have already given press releases on their incoming freshmen, which includes some really good ones for IWU and Augie. I guess SIDs or publicity folks in the MWC in general don't make much noise about recruiting.

Some leagues prohibit releasing names of incoming recruits.

I don't think it's a league rule. In each of the past few seasons I can recall somewhere in the early summer seeing articles on Lawrence and St. Norbert's recruiting classes in the newspaper that upon further review, came directly from their websites. I also seem to recall people linking Monmouth recruiting summaries from the school website on the board.

The CCIW is always a pissing match when it comes to recruiting. There seems to be a lot of insecurity among their coaches. The coaches want to make sure all the other coaches in league know how big their's is, but deep down they aren't entirely sure they know what to do with it

I know the IIAC restricts this. There are probably others.

I believe the NRO, which supercedes all conference rulings, restricts it to letters, e.g. Recruit "X"

That's a good one, ft2006. Since I doubt that the CCIW coaches who read D3hoops.com ever stray much beyond CCIW Chat and the Open Dates section, I may drop your joke on them and try to pass it off as my own.

And if they don't laugh, I'll just say that it was passed on to me by my good friend and fellow CCIW alumnus Lee April.

Actually that's just an NRO internal security measure. If I say Recruit X from New Roop City High then nobody knows who I'm talking about except the coach, or coaches, as I do throw the occasional bone to Grinnell. However, if I say EJ McKenna from Wausau East then I'm recruiting for everybody in and out of the conference that reads this board.

Unfortunately but not surprisingly EJ has opted for the role of a full time student and will be attending the University of Minnesota. It's not surprising because many of his friends are there and it's unfortunate that he couldn't have been recruited by Beloit more than he was. Lakeland was in the running all the way, as was Carroll in the early going. He's a good kid and I wish him the best.

The late hiring has cost Beloit at least one more recruit that I know of/scouted but you can't turn back time and do it over.

Heeeeey! No fair! It's not bad enough that the California Institute of Technology's (Cal      Tech) coach doesn't like me? :(

April you are West Coast Chapter President so you may implement whatever security measures you desire. However, the Headquarters Division will continue to make up it's own policies regionally. You know that......

Perhaps you should send an introductory email of yourself to the coach and then he will change his tune. It is D3 after all and when you send an email you are likely to get a response. It's also possible that he doesn't like the message boards so we are all evil.

There we have it citizens. The Roops lesson for the day. When you question something a D3 coach does, send him/her an email. For those of you that have not made Roopsville.blogspot.com your home page you are missing out. Global warming has been explained as has nuclear testings impact on the environment. And remember. This is still the United States of America, right? You are still an Armenian, are you not? I do still have freedom and free will, theoretically... Haven't I already refused this position like 37 times? :P

Since Wheaton is playing in the Cal     Tech tournament next winter, I will be practicing my Army duck and cover moves to avoid the coach that doesn't like me. If girls were crazy enough to be in the Marines I would understand your confrontational methods better. :D

I apologize for my outburst. I was just expressing my Armenian heritage.

I would like to point out that although it has taken almost eight months.  The Roop is now back to neutral karma and you can all thank your lucky stars that he hasn't spontaneously combusted like that guy on heroes.  The world is once again safe.

Because yes, I work with people from numerous First Nations every day and totally became friends with them cause I insulted them by calling them white people. ???

I meant Arminian as opposed to Calvinist... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arminianism It was emphasizing the concept of free will. That was clearly just a typo. But thanks for smiting me and the random outburst anyway.  ::)
