The phrase, "He can dish it out, but he can't take it," leaps to mind. But, hey ... it's just a karma point. No biggie. At least T2K self-disclosed his smite, which is more than most people who hand them out do.

Roop: "No. While I do enjoy the show I don't think an animated series will ever last long enough for the comic book to have any value".

18 years ago about 12 people from my dorm floor would all congregate on Sunday nights to watch the newest Simpson's episodes on a 13 inch TV with signals sent over the airwaves.  It was an event.

Anyone have any standings or info on the league at Joy of the Game?? There are several MWC teams playing there. Would love to know how they're doing. Thanks

MWC TEAMS IN THE DEERFIELD SUMMER LEAGUE (thru 7/18)

Lawrence:    5-0
Beloit:         2-3
Lake Forest: 2-3

LU is in one division and BC & LF are in the other division. I know LU won again on 7/19 so they are now 6-0. BC & LF either played before I got there or weren't scheduled last night.

How do you know this info?  Is there a website to look at?

We used to play in a league in Chicago called the Broadway Armory Leauge.  GREAT league.  Guys from Wisoncon would drive all the way to Chicago to play for Ripon's team.  I believe Carthage, Augustana, North Park, Chicago played in that league, amoung other teams with D1 talent on them.  Very competitive....actually now that I think of it, Tony Romo came down and played with us one game with his best friend Nick Sekeres (who played for Ripon three years ago).  He was unreal.  He was better then most guys on the team.  I heard Caron Butler say on TNT that  he thought Romo could have gone pro in the NBA if he focused on that.  Michael Iriving says he kills every guy in pick up ball in Dallas.  I had heard Romo was a great HS player, but Romo in the leauge?  I don't know, but he was awesome.

I really agree that playing together in the summer leagues really improves the teams chemistry.  It really does force players in leadership roles and gets first year players a chance to gel with their new teammates.

That probably could have been said in one post but it is good information none the less.

In other news I find it interesting that no MWC teams made the womens Academic Top 25 (24) for last year. You'd think that the way the conference harps on academics so much that they would have 5 or 6 teams in there. I guess they just let anybody in now if they can ball. LOL.

It may be tougher to maintain a 3.60-plus GPA at those schools, however.

Pure, unadulterated crap Roop! The North Central women's team from the CCIW was 5-20, but finished 24th on the Academic Top 25 (24). SOME of their time must have been spent in the library!  ;D
