Haha hopefully this season we are in a position to SHOOT an amazingly important free throw.

Will Beloit be starting a Junior (3rd year for those of you at Beloit) point guard after the semester ??

A highly reliable source within the NRO has told me that a recent transfer is not particularly happy at his new school. This could get interesting as it unfolds.....................

Grinnell has posted their tenative 2007-2008 schedule.

The non-conference schedule starts with a tournament at Wartburg (IIAC), followed by Waldorf (NAIA II), at Simpson (IIAC), North Central (CCIW), at Cal Tech, and at Redlands. The trip to Cali should be interesting. Cal Tech hasn't won a conference game in years; there are questions if Redlands will continue playing system ball. If they do, that will be quite a show!

According to the schedule they play North Central of MN, not the CCIW. Not sure how far apart the two are but I'm guessing it's over 200 miles so it wouldn't be an in region game. Looks like only a 19 or 20 game schedule for them depending on who else they play in the Wartburg tournament.

North Central (MN) will only be a second-year provisional member of D3 this coming season, anyway, so no game against the Rams will count as a regional game regardless of where your school is located.

(BTW, for those of you interested in such things, NCU's women's teams are also called the Rams, as opposed to the Ewes or the Lady Rams or some other more taxonomically appropriate nickname.)

I'm taxidermically impaired but I think the Cornell (IA) Rams are also the Rams on the womens side too.

Mea culpa. My mistake...

Lots of schools have decided to opt for gender-inappropriate names for their women's sports teams, Roop. And in one case (Pomona-Pitzer) a school has stuck the men's teams with the gender-inappropriate nickname.

Who are some of the other teams playing in exhibitions/scrimmages? When and where are they?

Monmouth plays Eastern Illinois University on Nov 1.
