Clark's a big boy -- he goes about 6'4, 250. I've seen him play a couple of times. I don't know how good a work ethic he has, but he certainly has the size and talent to be a dominant big man in the MWC.

Greetings MWC posters from a (primarily) CCIW poster.

A bit of recruiting news for you...........

Beloit------Has picked up 6'3"  Austin Weiss out of Naperville IL North HS. Austin is a 2/3 wing who led NN in scoring this year at 12.6 ppg. He is also a fairly decent rebounder for his size.

The Roop

Sounds like he'll mix well with the 6'5" they have coming in who can go guard or forward given his range.

Good to hear that Beloit's recruiting is starting to pick up for Coach Vraney. Other than Austin Weiss, who has committed to the Bucs for next year?

The Roop

Well I've hinted a few times about identity of the 6'5" they have coming in. So I'll be more specific. His older brother played there and graduated in 06 and his last name isn't Hinz or Skelton. Do the math..........................................

Looks like Carroll is getting John Ludwig from Edgerton. Don't know much about him other than he's primarily a football player but at 6'4" should give them some muscle on the boards if he gets the minutes. Probably would have gotten more minutes at Beloit but Carroll came up with a better financial aid package and he changed his mind.

Beloit still has Travis _____ coming in and I expect him to contribute right away. You can't get everybody but this is looking like a good recruiting class.

just say it already The Roop...TOWNS...Travis Towns...Danny Towns little brother. Saw him play last yr. He'll be good. Not sure how much he'll contibute right away but he certainly wont hurt 'em. Lets hope admissions doesnt screw this one up and play gsames with his financial package.

The Roop

Actually he got a pretty sweet deal and will be going there for WIAC prices. A team mate of his is still in the mix but I don't have any aid package news yet. He should get a good offer however. Last minute applicant, etc.

The Board of Trustees at Carroll College have decided to change the name to Carroll University, effective July 1, 2008. The name will be phased in so there will be a gradual change of everything from "Carroll College" to "Carroll University."

The Roop

Well it's official, you can now include Derek Carrier (Edgerton) in this years incoming class at BC. I don't have any details about his aid package but it was obviously good enough. Derek will be a 2 sport athlete playing football and basketball. This is quite a big deal for Beloit as several Big Tens were looking at him for football. Unfortunately for Derek he was nicked up a bit his senior year and his season was rather uneventful; at least not what it could have been.

Unfortunate for him, but probably fortunate for Beloit. It's not uncommon for a D3 school to end up with a student-athlete who had D1 potential but missed out on a scholarship opportunity due to a senior-year injury.

Also fortunate for Beloit is the fact that Whitewater wanted him to grey shirt and he had no interest in that. Sounds like they weren't real excited about him playing two sports either. A month ago Beloit was completely off the map and now he's going there. So there were a few things that just fell in place at the right time.
