Can anyone give me info on a kid who played at St Norb's - Eric Grunewald - the stats showed he had a very solid Frosh year, but hardly played Sophomore year....  he has transferred to Maryville in the SLIAC  -  what happened his soph year  -  can he contribue at Maryville that has a number of guards already returning?

St. Norbert got a transfer that likely pushed Grunewald down the depth chart. I believe there were some family issues regarding his transfer. Now that Maryville is going D2 maybe he got an offer.

Yikes, don't suggest that Grunewald came to Maryville for $$$ over in the SLIAC room -  they've been debating the 'fairness' of Maryville's SLIAC eligibility this season for the last week.....   the supposed 'inside' word is that no newcomers were offered scholarships this year or for future years, but one writer in particular insists that offers had to have been made.

Your right Hope, that would never happen. ??? In a perfect world. He failed to mention my info was regarding another sport.

In any event.............

I did ask around and Grunewalds transfer was related to a family matter.

I've seen it all now. The Under Armour College Bass National Championships. Ark-LR beat out Faulkner 21lbs - 17lbs. Do we need a message board for this ??

Anyone know when hoops practice starts?

What about when D3hoops prepoll comes out.

I would guess Lawrence starts between 20 and receiving votes.  Wouldnt be shocked if Carroll got a vote or two, same with Grinnell.

Officially practice begins Oct. 15th but many are on short fall breaks so it will vary by school. Beloit is starting on Oct. 19th for this very reason.

Carroll has its roster posted...no Marcus Melvin and strangely enough, Josh Gould is listed. He was an all-conference tight end for Carroll from 2004-07, but never played basketball before at THE U as far as I know.

They may have included student assistant coaches as Kim Jansen from the womens swim team is also on the roster.

Come on back boys and girls....practice has started and its time to talk about another season of basketball as the Preseason poll is out and LU is ranked 19th in the nation.  I think it will be a good season for the Vikes, and I'm hoping they can live up to thier ranking.  We start off the season with a few challenging games so it should be good...I'm excited.

Larry, good luck to the vikings.  they have been enjoying a good run here recently.  can the new coach, of last year, keep it going?  by the way, their is spelled their, not thier.  come on lawrence is a great skool!

The Roop

Based on those rankings Oxybob will be pleased and Lu-Nut will not.

If the season ended today the pods would be:

@Wash U. vs Buena Vista
St. Thomas vs. UW-Whitewater

@Augustana vs.UW-Platteville
Wheaton vs. UW-Stevens Point

LU gets an automatic bid and travels to California as the NCAA finally awards Occidental a home game. LOL. Welcome to life in the "geographic" midwest region as the top 8 are all from there.

Thanks mystery person with only one point for correcting my spelling.  You might want to work on your capitalization and punctuation a bit before criticizing others....

Definately a Newbie....
