The first one was probably the real stats and the second one was probably the Grinnell stats after they have their own guys look at the stats.

Yes, and by the way, this is not allowed by the NCAA.

Here is another article from the Freeman back on Nov. 19 about this.

Has anyone heard any talk about the reorganizing the league that gets mentioned in this article?

I have no knowledge of this whatsoever, but if they were to reorganize, I would guess they would resplit into a North and South division with Ripon, Lawrence, Beloit and Lake Forest in thre North, and Monmouth, Knox, IC and Grinnell in the South.  It would be interesting to see if they planned on keeping it an 8 team league, or if they looked to find other schools that fit the academic nature of the conference, like MSOE or something like that.  8 works out well for this size of a conference, as for football you get 2 non-conference games with a full round robin, and for basketball you would get a full round robin schedule with 2 more non-conference games as well.   The thing to remember is that this leage has always been moving teams in and out, back to when it was a mixture of Minnesota Iowa and Wisconsin teams back in the 50's and 60's.  I'm sure the league will continue to do fine no matter what happens.

Why would they have to split into divisions with 8 teams ?? In the days of the divisional alignment you played your division twice and the other division once. That would only be 10 conference games in basketball. No need to split unless they have more than 10 teams.

As for re-organizing the conference without Carroll and St. Norbert they would be putting their automatic bids at risk if they don't cross all their t's and dot all their i's. Not sure I see any point in doing so however.

Roop makes a good point on the automatic bid.

And it would seem silly for St Norbert to leave the conference if competing in the national tournament is a priority.  It seems that in virtually all sports the MWC automatic birth would be easier to get than one in the CCIW.  (Now the NAC might be a good move on that front.)

When have I ever made a bad point is the real question ??. LMAO. FYI Pat. Bad points and erroneous points are not the same thing  ;)

That being said, this is my first ever post on the new PC. Yes, The Roop sold out and got a PC. The 8 year old iMac still works but only when it wants to these days. So now when Maverick asks "Hey Roop, you gonna whip the laptop out and post during the game ??" I can now say "Yes Maverick, I will do that".

Happy Holidays to all those in The Midwest Conference! :)!!

Tax refund = a new iMac. It is nice to finally have a laptop but I'm not sure that Vista is worth the effort. Although the machine itself is frigging awesome for movies.

Still hating Vista but I've got Weird Al and Public Enemy on iTunes. So I'm doing better.

Vista is what it is. I've accepted that. I'm an 8 year Mac dawg trying to learn new tricks. All I ask is for somebody to tell me how to get wireless working and stop IE from starting everytime I turn the laptop on. I prefer Opera; etc.

I trust those in the MWC more than I trust customer support techs in foreign countries. So I thought I would ask here first.

The Roop, with all the comments you have made toward me, you think I am going to help you with Vista???   Not even Bill Gates can help you with Vista. :)

And yes, I saw your comments on the conference shake up. I find it very interesting overall. The thing that I think would have to happen is that an announcement would have to come at least a year in advance due to scheduling. So right now I feel like my son will play in the MWC, and that is fine with me.  ;D

Big night for the Midwest Conference. Carroll upsets #5 Stevens Point 85-71 and St. Norbert shocks #1 Platteville 70-68.

Greek Tragedy

Big wins for them.  Ladwig and Hoch combined for about 55 for Carroll.  I think the bigger upset was St. Norb's over Platteville.

Of course Bill Gates can't help me with Vista, he retired a while back.  ;) I'm more worried about the PennAtlantic/MWCTV capacity right now.

3212kbps bandwith test tonight on PennAtlantic before I opened the webcast yet the best I received the St. Thomas @Concordia-St. Paul game was 539 because the network was too busy. Get more capacity and by all means charge more if you have to. While I appreciate all the free games available right now if you can't see them with any reliability what's the point ??

FYI. St. Norbert moves to the NFC North next season but has a dual affiliation with the MWC. All earnings will be held in a trust fund until after graduation so they maintain NCAA eligibility and can compete in the D3 playoffs; etc.

Now I'm waiting for scottie to chime in...............

Arguably the biggest win in St. Norbert men's basketball history tonight, as the Green Knights defeated the #1-ranked UW-Platteville Pioneers.
