No thanks, De Pere is closer for me.

Waukesha is better drive than Grinnell

The Roop

I seem to bring the storm of the century every time I've been to Grinnell so I would have to think about it if they host.

The Roop knows the way to Monmouth.   ;D

The Scots will get it back on track following tonights loss to the boys of blue.

I would also argue along with Systemfan that Grotberg's school record will NOT be broken. As of today, he has amassed 2,385 points. With 14 games left and atleast one conference tournament game this season(they have played in one each year he has been there) his point total will be unbeatable.

As of today, 2385 points.
15 games remaining x minimum of 29 points per game = 435 points

That is atleast: 2,820 points. Considering the fact he has averaged 29.8 points for his career. I don't think a freshman will be able to come in an score as many points for a consistent period of time quite like him. Also, he hasn't missed a game and has been healthy for all four years.

Congrats to John Grotberg for his impressive feat. You indeed have been a pleasure to watch.

That would put him No. 3 in Division III men's basketball history. Willie Chandler (Misericordia) is No. 2, with 2,898; Andre Foreman (Salisbury State) is No. 1 with 2,940.

In case anyone reading this board wants a record to shoot for.

Hmmm, the numbers include tournament play, right? I think there is a decent chance that Grinnell gets two games in the MWC tournament. That is, I think they have a good chance of making the MWC tournament and that translates into two games, not one, right? That makes his chances a little better of getting up in that range.

Well, whatever. He gets where he gets. He's been a great player, and it's been fun. Here's hoping it has been fun for him as well.

Ouch....

From reading the box score it even looks worse then the score sounds.  Carroll shot over 60% from beyond the arc....thats amazing.

LU was 4-20 from behind the arc...that couples with Carroll's proficiency will kill you every time.

I still think LU is one of the 4 best teams in the conference and will be there in the tournament at the end of the year, but yes as of now I would have to agree that its looking more like the MWC tournament will be taking a hiatus from its semi-perminent home of late at Alex...

What do my eyes see?    :o   The Roop suggesting that he might be going to De Pere?    ;D

What an interesting development!    ::)

Hey, I've been to Schuldes many times. So don't act so surprised ;) Besides I've already promised to make it to Minahan for Spatula Bowl II next football season.

1.) It's only one loss, don't throw the book at Lawrence just yet.  It's way too early to crown the MWC champion.

2.) Wow, that was a humbling loss.  A blowout loss on home court against your conference rivals.  That's going to leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Does it make the Pointers' blowout loss to Carroll at home last week seem a little less painful?

The only certainty is that the conference tournament is unlikely to ever be played in Beloit again. Vraney and staff should be embarrased by the product they put on the floor Tuesday night. Is Bill Knapton to old to come out of retirtement? Even using a walker he would have done a better job than Vraney's charges did Tuesday night. How embarrassing is it for Knox to have acvtually lost to the Bucs.

Don't tell anybody ;) but I'm afraid I have to agree with titan2000 on this one augiefan. Exactly what was your point anyway ??

Marian beat LU fairly easily and then Beloit beat Marian fairly easily. Using that one game mentality Beloit should beat LU by 27 next week. It doesn't work that way however. Yes it was a very poor effort against St. Norbert but I'm thinking that the Bucs will gain from it.

In short you can't teach experience, it must be learned.

Just trying to get a rise out of you guys. Nobody has much good to say about the Bucs, so I went negative in hopes Buc and Vraney defenders other than Roop would step forward. I do miss the Knapton era though, when Beloit, Ripon and Monmouth were the Big 3 in the MWC.

Scottie's question of the day?

Who will make it back to the MWC playoffs first?  Beloit, Ripon, or the Good Guys?
