PennAtlantic emailed me an apology for not being able to see the games. The kicker is that I didn't even contact them about it; I only mentioned it here. So should I worry that Big Brother is watching The Roop or just chalk it up to great customer service ???

I did contact them and got the same e-mail.  You might be linked as an NRO executive.

I think they're just practicing good Roop-service.

By the way, The Roop, I noticed that the BC women are atop the MWC.  What is the final score if BC's men and women scrimmage each other?  Just curious...   ;D

There would be no score as it is a scrimmage.  :P

I got two emails. One about the Beloit game and the other about the Knox game. I didn't contact them either.

Okay, what about an exhibition game?

They may have been able to see that you logged in (which requires your email address) and attempted to access the game and just contacted everyone that failed.

Scottie....my hypothesis would put the score at about 110-40.

Eastside

I'm thinking more like 140 to 10.

Please clarify, which team wins?  (That's the joke...)  ;)

I know Scottie was kidding around, but that's always been an interesting subject to me.

What level of boys team would be a good match for a .500 D3 women's team like Monmouth? A good frosh-soph team?

Or, since this is a men's basketball board, how would a middle of the pack MWC men's team do playing women at a higher level. I see there are currently no "middle of the pack" teams in terms of a .500 record, so let's use Lawrence. Would the Vikings men beat a Tennessee or UConn women's team?

If the answer is yes, could they win at the WNBA level? If the answer is no, I'm assuming there are lesser Division I women's teams they would beat?

(You can look at times and distances in track and come up with some sort of comparison of physical abilities, but the team sport aspect adds a different dimension to it, I would think.)

Re:  poll

I like Grinnell but it's going to be tough topping Carroll since they are guard heavy and Hoch and Ladwig are awesome.  Guards are needed to beat Grinnell and Carroll has them.  St. Norbert has shown they can beat the best and will probably slow it down against the Pioneers.  Like Oshkosh (Marsh, Miller and DSA), Grinnell is a 3-man team of Grotberg, Little A and Bobby.  I'm hoping for a Grinnell sweep, but I'm thinking the opposite is more of a possibility.  Sorry guys.

Would it be reffed like a men's game or would it be reffed like a women's game? If like a men's game I think the top half of our conference could play with WNBA teams. If it's like a women's game where you aren't allowed to play as physical I think the men's teams would run into foul trouble and then a good free throw shooting D1 women's team would have a good chance of beating them.

scottie

I've noticed that many women's basketball programs, particularly at the elite levels, have a squad of men who serve as practice opponents.  They could be selected from intramural leagues, or maybe chosen according to a particular size and skill.  So I don't think the fighting Pat Summit's or fighting Geno's would be nervous lacing it up in the MWC.

(I saw Geno in an airport once.  Good lookin' chap.)

The Roop

scottie says good customer service, Pat offers coincidental information, then scottie mentions an airport. Excuse me but Richard Hoagland was on Coast to Coast AM last night and mentioned that plane crash in which all survived. What confuses me is that Hoagland didn't explain in a 5th time removed half reference how that crash proves the face on Mars really does exist; even though it has been dis-proven a 100 times over. Gotta be a conspiracy or government cover up here. Never have I heard a person talk so much without saying anything than Richard Hoagland. Incredibly entertaining but the entertainment value comes from what some people are willing to believe.

Was/is there life on Mars ?? Probably. Is there life on the Beloit basketball team ?? That is the greater mystery. We should find out tonight. Lake Forest (despite it's lack of posters) has always had a great feed on the webcasts. Thankfully they only use one camera now.

Do they have to use the men's ball or women's ball?

Do they use the men's 3 point line or the women's 3 point line?
