With a win against Carroll today, Grinnell will put themselves in position to finish in 2nd place in the conference... it is altogether possible that they will win out after this game against Carroll, and also possible that SNC will beat Carroll twice. Also possible, but not likely, is that Grinnell still could host the tournament if they win out from this point and Carroll and SNC split and both falter down the stretch.

In 2001, Grinnell was 3 games back at this point in the season and in fourth place. They won out and hosted the tournament thanks to a Lake Forest and IC implosion.

This season doesn't look that different. Some teams stacked at the top and what appears to be an easy schedule for Grinnell after today.

Go Pioneers... well the Scarlet and Black ones anyway.

Grinnell won last night mainly because Lawrence isn't the same team it was 3 years ago. Carroll should take this one by 20 easy. Grinnell will be in the tournament but they will be playing the host in the first round.

, Not sure carroll will win by that kinda margin but i think they should pull it out, grinnell outcomes too unpredictable. Gonna watch on MWCTv, should be an exciting game, the game last night was pretty lame.

yeah, carroll breakin the press too easily. Grinnell cold from beyond the arch as a whole. Grinnell driving more than ive seen in the past and not coming up with rebounds. Cant wait for 2nd half, who knows what will happen.

Not that I ever pat myself on the back..................... but I think 49 points = 20 easy.

I think "The System" benefits Carroll as much as it benefits Grinnell. Why ?? Because Carroll already plays an up tempo game and they don't forgo the 3 when they play against it. Many teams try to control the clock against Grinnell but it seldom works. Lake Forest pulled it off two years ago in the tournament so it does happen on occasion.

The MWC Tournament will be in De Pere or Waukesha this year. I think this weekend has proven that. Personally I'd prefer a neutral site like Greenheck Fieldhouse here in New Roop City. St. Norbert has some parking issues and Carroll does not have a good seat in the house. LU has played hockey games at Greenheck so this move would not be unprecedented. Besides, it's only a 3 minute drive for me and after all it is all about my convenience. LOL.

Hi all,
You guys absolutely crack me up. I have been watching from the sidelines for a while now. Thought I might as well get into the game. Please be gentle -- I am the GC_critic but am still a GC and System fan. But sometimes I do just need to blow off a little steam! It might be Big Dave, the three Amigo's or some of those "*#&%$=%" first years!! Doesn't mean I don't love all of the ol' Pioneers as much as ever.
