tm, If you scroll back a page or two you will see that Hoch rolled an ankle in the St. Norbert game. I caught the tail end of the LU-CU game and the announcers were talking like he might make it back this year. Possibly for the Ripon game. I say let him rest as long as he needs to. CU is already in the tournament so don't bring him back too soon.

Had lots of trouble with the feed in the SNC-BC game during the second half but I'm thinking it was SNC 80 something BC 50 something.

Looking forward to the results and recaps from tonight's War on 34.  The Good Guys are still mathematically alive and ready to make their move!   :D

After todays impressive win, who in their right mind can vote for LU missing the MWC Tournament ?? Frustration votes are not allowed.

On an unrelated note. Check your cell scottie, you have a text message.

At the half. "Good Guys" 38 Knox 32. Incredibly unimpressive thus far. Justify it by calling it a rivalry game  but what I see is sloppy play on both sides.

Fort Knox

I know that remedial reading is encouraged, but not required to get into Monmouth, but even with that fact in mind I can't figure out where the MC announcers are getting some of these pronunciations ;D

Goedeke (Go-DECK-E) is being called Get-Ge

Kirven is being called Carving

Well the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the 2009 Detroit Lions may pop the cork now as Knox has broken the seal.

I doubt we'll hear from scottie for a month.

I was referring to Katzfey on St. Norb's.  I had no idea Hoch got hurt in that same game...sounds like Hoch is out for the year too now.  At this point, he was POTY in my opinion.  I'm not comparing Hoch to Kent Raymond, but his impact to Wheaton is like Hoch's to Carroll.  Wheaton basically tanked with Raymond out...and right now, Carroll doesn't look too good.

Oh brother...even though you did not post the score, I'll assume that the Good Guys let this one slip away.  Can't wait to figure out the box score.  Fortunately, I'm half-drunk so it won't sting as bad - I hope.  Will look forward to the quotes from Coach Purlee.

You might want to finish getting drunk - now 1-16 Knox 70. Monmouth 65.

Tom, Usually you have a link to the story when you mention newspapers. This time you didn't so I had to guess.

scottie, Looks like the Monmouth Park dynasty is at it's end.

Mr. Ypsi, is there a proper way to "finish getting drunk" ?? I may have been doing it wrong all these years. LOL.

Nothing has officially been determined yet but I do think that we will be watching the MWC Tournament in De Pere, WI. The Carroll announcers brought up some interesting mathematical theories but do they really believe that St. Norbert will lose 4 and Grinnell will host ?? Grinnell is likely to run the table but St. Norbert won't lose 4.

We're going to De Pere this year. My only question is what happens if the St. Norbert women also have hosting rights.........................

I see he did not play against Lawrence but I'm suprised he's out for the year ... it only looked like a sprain against Norberts.

Is there any link or further explanation?

I heard Hoch came back into the game for a while against SNC after the sprain.  Is that true?  If so, that could have really done some damage.   :'(

I was one of those announcers with the weird mathematical theory on how we could end up back in Grinnell. I highly doubt it will happen but Grinnell can certainly win out. Lawrence could take St. Norbert twice. If Carroll can turn it around they could take one. That's three. A road trip to Illinois has surprisingly tripped up many good teams over the years. I know it is highly unlikely but it is fun to play around with the numbers.

I don't know what is wrong with Hoch. I saw him yesterday morning about five hours before the game and he didn't seem to be limping. Carroll needs him back. It's not just the points he puts up. He brings a different level of intensity to the floor.

Hickory:

I didn't attend the LU/CU game yesterday but did in 2008.  I recall the PA announcer was really annoying. After reading the NCAA sportsmanship announcement, he proceeded to be the biggest homer of all time including alienating every LU fan to a point where some of the parents went to him at half time asking him to, if nothing else, turn down the volume in good sportsmanship.  He scoffed at them and only increased it.  LU won by the way.  ;)

Now this guy is no Jack Buck, so if it's you or your dad I apologize.  But I listened to the CU/SNC game on Midwest.tv and he was still there, being a jackass.  I would think even your fans would dislike his belloring like a Holstein every time you score.  :-[

By the way, I agree, Hoch is a stud and clearly the POTY, unless Kroeger takes LU on a run which is within the realm of possibility.  SNC is so balanced I'd have to make Gresz the POTY there.
