You could always fly to Des Moines and rent a car. Better chance of finding a boucanier in an airport lounge than in Grinnell I'm guessing.

Roop:

Do you have any operatives in De Pere?  Rumor is that SNC may have Kafzkey duct tape his hernia and play this week against Carroll? Practice was closed yesterday, so my sources were unable to confirm his participation.

How about in Waukesha?  Is Ladwig out for the year or for just a game or two?  I can't get any answers.

I wondered if any peanut products are used to produce a Roopacino or any other Saints Rest delicacies, since we may need to make that trip.   No peanuts in the Taco Bravo.

Roopacinos have cashew pieces on top of them but I'm sure you can order one without if you have any concerns. FYI. If it has the cashew pieces it's a Roopacino, if not, it's a caramel cappucino. That's the only Saints Rest recipe I am familiar with, or am allowed to disclose.

Ladwig is probably done because I doubt he would be very effective if he tried playing. Haven't heard anything about Kafzkey other than he's injured. It would be quick recoveries in both cases so if I had to guess I'd say both are out. Although Kafzkey might have a chance at playing in the tournament; wherever that might be.

Those don't help much. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where the MWC representative might get to host a single game. Best I can do so far is that there would be no geographic bye for Puget Sound and they host a regional with the SCIAC champ, Chapman and then Whitworth needs to get a Pool C. On the womens side Texas-Dallas, UW-Whitewater and UW-Stevens Point need to host thereby knocking the men out for hosting rights.

Wheaton hosts a regional featuring Buena Vista, the HCAC winner and then the SLIAC rep or a Pool C from the IIAC. Then maybe, just maybe the MWC could host something if the byes went to the top 4 in the current top 25 poll.

I predict much screaming when the pairings are announced and am glad I don't have a say in it. We could be crowning the national champion before we get to Salem.

Lots of teams east of the Ohio River on this list that shouldn't be getting bids IMHO ahead of the top 10 teams in the Midwest.

Just so people can see them besides going to the link:

Midwest Region
1. Washington U. 21-1 20-1
2. Wheaton (Ill.) 20-3 16-3
3. Elmhurst 17-6 17-6
4. Transylvania 17-5 14-3
5. North Central (Ill.) 16-7 14-5
6. Lawrence 15-6 15-6
7. Augustana 17-7 16-7
8. St. Norbert 18-4 17-4

After seeing these....I'm still sticking to my there is no way the MWC gets 2 teams in theory....LU jusps ahead of SNC...they would need a lot of CCIW upsets to get in

Why don't we want people to follow the link? There's more to the network than the message board. We like to get people out to see what else there is.

There will be more CCIW losses without having any upsets occur. At the risk of a lecture from Mr. Sager it would not surprise me if the CCIW only gets 1 in this year. SNC is the MWC's best hope at a Pool C but they need to get a win in the conference tournament for it to be realistic. Should they lose to Carroll this week I think we can forget about 2 this year. But if you really want 2 from the MWC I suggest becoming a Wheaton, Carthage and Buena Vista fan.

I know Pat, but for people like Tom to copy and paste and use them in his arguments, it works if we copy them from the link back to the page.  Its only the midwest....if people want to see the rest of them they still have to go back to the link..

Here comes the anti-Grinnell  sentiment as larry_u is picking on Coach Arsenaults 2nd favorite poster.

LU big over Beloit, Horton scores a bunch but LU defense and 3 ball game wins out. LU 60% to 56% for Beloit first half to a 15 point lead, never looked back. Little Horton hit several 3's early then he heard the who in the hallway behind the LU bench and got scared.

Horton's last game, what a player.

No lecture is forthcoming from me, Roop. There is a distinct possibility that the CCIW could only end up with one representative in the tournament. I think that the CCIW will end up with two reps, which appears to be a bigger possibility than either one or three.

The MWC's chances of getting a second team into the field appear to be very slim, judging by both the current regional rankings and Patrick Abegg's computer formula.

I keep telling him that, but maybe you telling him will have a bit more influence...
