I'm guessing the page in question will be why Grinnell hosted a regional and LU didn't get a bid.

Since when did you need bait?!  ;D

Baiting..................... How could you even suggest such a thing. If I wanted to do something like that I'd have Buena Vista hosting and guess who would be making the trip.

By the way, we made that trip in 2005 and kicked their butts, much to the chagrin of their 1,000 fans.

Okay, its LU at Ripon today so its time to lose my kind and generous demeanor for a day.  Because we all know its true,

Keep in mind that the "Good Guys" are red too and they need to win if LU is to host.

Who would've thunk it even a month ago but if LU or GC wins today the Carroll @St. Norbert game is pretty much meaningless.

Roop:

I think you have that wrong.  If GC wins, and both LU and SNC win, LU will be the host as they have the best record of the 3 teams tied (SNC, GC and LU).

So the "Good Guys in Red" winning, if LU wins, would mean a 2 way tie assuming wins by LU and SNC, and LU wins that tiebreaker with its two 25 points plus wipeouts of the Green Knights.

So I think the CU/SNC game is a critical game and the GC/Good Guys in Red game is really inconsequential unless CU wins, then its GC vs LU and the tie breaker falls to the Taco John's Roller Derby Queens, assuming they beat the Good Guys In Red.

Do I have that right, Roop  ???

Don't make The Roop spake or anything. Current top 3 win and Grinnell gets it. SNC gets eliminated via the 3 way comparison, then it's head to head between LU and GC.

Swing by New Roop City on your way to Grinnell and I'll split the gas money.

Rooper....you are wrong

In the case of a three way tie the three teams take thier combined records against the three tied teams, and the best record gets the tiebreaker:

LU is 2-1 with 2 wins over SNC and a loss to Grinnell
GC is 1-1 with a win over LU and a loss to SNC
SNC is 1-2 with a win over GC and 2 losses to LU.\

Hense LU wins the tie-breaker and gets the #1 and the host if all three teams win.

GC and SNC would then go back to head to head, and SNC would get the # 2 seed by virtue of its win over Grinnell.  GC would be 3, and Carroll would be 4.

This direct from the LU web release helps prove my point:

The Vikings need a win Saturday and some help to host the four-team Midwest Conference Tournament on Feb. 27-28. A Lawrence win, coupled with either a Grinnell loss or a St. Norbert win, means the tournament will be at Alexander Gymnasium for the fifth time in six years.

This from Grinnell's website:

Grinnell would host the tournament with a win over Monmouth and a St. Norbert loss to Carroll. If St. Norbert wins and Lawrence defeats Ripon, then Lawrence would host. A Lawrence loss and St. Norbert win means St. Norbert would hosts

I've been describing this for the last few weeks....I guess you would have paid a little more attention.

Monmouth announcers are the worst.  How many times will they say "Booby Long with the LONG three?"  It was old the second time I heard it.

All that being said, Monmouth is playing well early on.

wc2viking

Anyone out there with a score update for MC-GC?

Also, what the hell am I watching for halftime entertainment at Monmouth?

To answer both my questions.....

1. GC 38 MC 33 at half

2. Coed dance team....Talent level:  Females > Males

These Monmouth announcers really suck.  They keep getting calls wrong (they had four touch calls in a row wrong) and fail to announce the score and time...

That being said, 65-62 GC, just under 10 left....

These announcers must have never called a system game before because they seem amazed at things like the sub patterns and all the 3s.

GC is threatening to put Monmouth away, up 10 and on something like a 15-3 run now...

I agree. It's the same guy that couldn't pronounce the "t" in Beloit last year and now he's pronouncing the "t" in Arsenault. His color sidekick is best suited to another line of work as well.
