Should be fun in any case.  Given that GC won at Appleton (by 1) a month ago it should be close.  Grotberg had an off night after all...

Here's a little secret.  That has more to do with the defense then just just cold shooting....

;D Well, why should Grinnell show up at all?  ;D

As a Grinnell alum and fan, I'm just happy that they won one when they didn't play well. My sense is that they typically don't put together back-to-back bad efforts, so maybe (just maybe) if everything goes right and they eat their vegies, they can beat that team that you feel is more deserving.

Call it a shooters chance. We can dream can't we?  ::)

Secret #2: We don't believe that defense exists at Grinnell.  We don't play it, and we don't see it.  We just know that somehow we beat it.

Can any knowledgeable guru out there provide some info on the possibility of the MWC champ hosting an NCAA tourney game?  Who should we be rooting for or against for that to happen?  If GC happens to win tomorrow, even I'll root for them.

It will be a good game, I have no doubt.  I just hope the teams get the opportunity to win or lose it, not on the shoulders of the three in the striped shirts tomorrow...

Likewise, Viking.  Even if GC wins tomorrow I think Lawrence deserves a shot in the tournament after the whipping they gave to most of the MWC down the stretch (most of which were whippings of teams that were, at the time, ranked).

The Roop

17.9% from 3 point range in the 1st half or Grinnell would have out this one away early. SNC never attacked the basket the way they should have and when they did, they were careless about it. 3 consecutive blocked dunks kinda illustrates that.

I may have had one or three or so tonight.  I'm jazzed up.  If I offend anyone, I apologize.

Heck, I figured you were just channelling your inner T2K.  ;)

Probably not.  There are enough higher ranked teams ahead who will be hosting and have bigger gyms.

St. Thomas, UWSP, UW-PLattville ,Wheaton

I think the winner will be going on the road, its just where that will be the question.

On a lighter note, I went to the front page of D3hoops and saw the headline/link

"Two Maroons named to 2009 Men's Basketball All-ODAC Team"

Everytime I hear that nickname I can't help but hear Bugs Bunny saying "what a maroon!" .

Little things amuse me...

The Roop

Depends on where the byes fall larry_u. I'm not going to hold me breath but I could see the MWC hosting a single game vs. a lower Pool A or one of the many Pool Cs that "should" come from the west/midwest regions.

Thats true.  It could happen.   In that case, if LU wins tomorrow I think they have a much better chance of getting that first round hosting then Grinnell does.  But then again it is the NCAA and they can't even explain why they do what sometimes...

I am pretty mellow tonight.  After all, we only do this for fun.  ;)

Should be a good one tommorrow.  I hope Long can play at 100% or LU will get all kinds of asterisk talk here.

I didn't think the Darby students were that bad.  They were loud and that helped their team.

Just so you think I haven't completely lost it, the one offensive foul call on SNC at about 8:00 was hilarious.  What was that? That guy should never be allowed another game in the MWC.

The Roop

If I understood things correctly on the IIAC board it will be Cornell and Wartburg in the championship. There's a "surprise" Pool A that Grinnell could host.

I may have had one or three or so tonight.  I'm jazzed up.  If I offend anyone, I apologize.  However, this LU team is arguably one of the hottest teams in the country right now, and I think its gonna take more then what Grinnell has to stop that train.

....back from walking the dog.  Hoist one for me, larry_u!  May the best team win tomorrow.  ;)

Likewise, if LU wins, and Wisconsin Lutheran can help finish off the upset run through the NAC tournament...could be a host there.

Aurora could travel to either LU or GC too...
