Not to make excuses - LU has been the better team today - but has any team had worse injury luck coming into the tournament? Norlund, Chamberlain, and now Little A. Would have been fun to see them play with a full complement.

Its true.  Does anyone think it is just dumb luck, or does it have to do with the system?  It always seems much more physical/ violent on the body then standard basketball....seems like someone could break down more easily?

A lot of our injuries over the years have been freak ones.  Malinowski for example was whip lashed by a MUCH bigger Drake player and a couple of our other guys had similar injuries...

Congratulations to the Lawrence Vikings, Midwest Conference Champions!!!!

Now lets stay hot and go on a nice long run in the NCAAs!

LU! LU! LU! LU!

Good season Pioneer fans...a little better shooting and this would have been a whole different ballgame...

Grotberg gets his foul!
Stop with those comments. That's piling on at this point.

I don't mean to. I just thought it was funny that everyone on both sides of the ball had their fouls except for Grotberg. A statistical abberation only, not a dig at the officials.

And hard to swallow when you're disappointed at your team losing. Especially when you're posting congrats to the other team.

Btw, only player now that I think about it, that reminds me of Wood is Brandon Roy of my beloved Portland Trail Blazers since they both are quiet leaders with a tendency to make key shots...

After LU's loss at home to Ripon on Jan. 28, they turned it around and dominated their remaining games.  Including 5 games against Grinnell, St. Norbert, and Carroll, LU outscored their opponents by an average score of 87-64.  I think they're playing better than at this time last year and have a good shot to make an NCAA run.  Now, if we can get 1-2 more home games...

Congratulations, LU - great game.  Sad as I am to admit it!  :)

Thanks to Long, Grotberg, Idrissa, Roewe, and Arsenault for a fun 4 years!
