I dont understand your dislike of Lake Forest.  If we are talking black holes of the MWC even in the past 5 years there are at least 3 or 4 other schools that would qualify for that honor.

Lake Forest has quietly put together a strong batch of recruits last year and it looks like this year as well.  With all the graduating seniors leaving the MWC I think it sets up nicely for them

They never have any posters, that's what makes them a black hole.

Fair enough then.  I thought you were referring just to the basketball aspect.  Your right about the posters, I've tried to make it out to a game or two but I don't have any real knowledge on the inner workings of the program.

I imagine success will bring out some posters, hopefully for the good of the board that happens

Maybe not a three piece suit but he is definetly the best dressed coach I've seen in awhile.  Not a bad thing by any means

Speaking of Lake Forest, here is another top-notch player they've landed. One of the better all around guards I saw play this year. In the super sectional at NIU, he took Neuqua Valley, who I believe was the number 2 ranked team in the state at the time, apart.

I live in Elgin and follow the local teams, including nearby D-C.. I agree on Beck. He's a terrific player by DIII standards. If he works as hard in college as he did at D-C Lake Forest has a prize recruit.

I was out last night and there was an Ultimate Fighting Event on TV and I swore the guy fighting was Jason Schepler, the former Carroll player.  He was a pretty good instigator when he played for the Piioneers so it very well could have been him.

Anyone have any insights on this?

Rumor has it that Grezek, the SNC coach has thrown his name in the mix for the opening at UW-Plattville.  Not sure how much strength his bid might have with some of the bigger names being discussed, but he could be an interesting dark horse canidate.

You didn't read my mind, but I did think about this possibility as well.  Also, your own coach could also a candidate?  I don't think it's any secret that a move from the MWC to the WIAC is a step up and I was trying to figure out coaches in the MWC that would "qualify" for a move to the WIAC.  Grzesk's name was the first to pop into my head.  DePagter was the 2nd.  Not sure if either are likely since they haven't been with their respective teams very long.

I could see Grzesk, he was a Coombs assistant at Lakeland before taking over the job after Coombs went to UW-P.  He's been a head coach longer, has more experience and did turn around the SNC program quickly.  I think Depageter probably wants to put a few more years under his belt at LU, and I see him as more of an LU man...taking the Tharp route of keeping LU relevant in the top 25 for then next 5-6 years or so and then maybe making a DII jump like Tharp did...I could be wrong, but I don't see him leaving LU anytime soon.

DePagter has a long history of kicking Oshkosh's ass which would help, but I think you are right, it is too soon.
