If he's healthy Jr. Arsenault is probably headed that direction as well.

Gentlemen: Typically when do the coaches of the MWC release the info on the recruiting classes. My son will be new to the conference as a post recruit for LFC.

Thanks for the info.

jlauby---

There is no set date on which coaches release info on recruiting classes. In fact, depending on the school, it may not even be the coach's choice as to either when OR if to release recruit info. At some schools this task falls more to the SID, sometimes with approval/authorization from either the coach or even the AD. Furthermore, I doubt any coach or even any SID would post recruit info directly on D3Hoops. I believe the vast majority of coaches don't ever look at D3Hoops. Some coaches even try to keep recruit info a "secret" for one reason or another. In my experience, I've observed that most recruit info is actually "released" by D3Hoops fans of either the involved school, or by other knowledgeable D3Hoops fans/posters from other schools in the conference, or even the region. For instance, I follow a team in the CCIW, but on page 112 I posted info on a LFC recruit I saw play last year. Also, on the same page, I see that WLCALUM83 also posted info on a LFC recruit. Perhaps he is also familiar with your son, and will be posting info on him. If not, I am really not that familiar with individual LFC fans who post here. I would suggest checking with the LFC SID regarding whether they usually post this type info on their web site. If not, why not post the info on your son yourself?

AndOne has about everything right except the above quote. In my experience most coaches do pay attention to D3 and the message boards; if for no other reason than to make sure their players are not posting. How seriously they take things may vary but all take notice at one time or another. Players included.

Roop--

Perhaps I should have said "I believe the vast majority of head coaches don't ever look at D3Hoops."
For example, in the CCIW at least 5 of the 8 head coaches don't look at it. I know this because 3 of them have personally told me they don't, and I've been advised by a couple of regular posters who know the 2 others well that they don't look at it either. The other 3, I either haven't talked to about it or been told by regular posters/fans of those schools.\
I do think a higher percentage of assistant coaches review the posts. This is  partially to make sure the players aren't posting. However, players talk, and I think if the coaches have ears, in most instances they would know if any of their players posted anything.

The Roop

Could be a MWC thing as it appears to be fairly unanimous in these parts. At the same time I've never heard Pat Coleman (or another D3 personality) interview a coach on Hoopsville that never heard of the website.

The Roop rests his case.

Me thinks that unless they are living in a cave, they've heard of D3Hoops .

The coaches I'm aware of that never look at it and/or couldn't care less what is posted often feel as such for a couple of reasons. First, they believe the posters don't know as much about basketball as they do (we all know thats wrong  ;)) and secondly, because (they think) much of the info posted is either outright incorrect, or merely what the poster's opinion is as represented by what team he/she roots for.

The Roop

So basically we're representing opposite sides of an argument for which there is no correct answer ??

I don't know about the MWC, but I doubt that any CCIW coaches read the d3hoops.com message boards. As AndOne said, though, it's pretty common for assistant coaches to do so. However, that doesn't mean that the head coaches in that league do not use this website. I hope that I don't need to remind anyone that there's a lot more to this site than just message boards. The jobs board and the scheduling board are useful tools that most, if not all, head coaches are aware of by now, and this site also has the only comprehensive and cross-linked team schedule matrix for all 400+ teams in D3. That, in and of itself, is reason enough for any head coach to click on d3hoops.com.

Greetings MWC posters from a CCIW regular. Just a FYI---

Lawrence won the Deerfield Summer League at the Joy of the Game facility in Deerfield, IL last Thurs night. I believe they only lost one game during the season.
A solid looking team that plays well as a TEAM. I suspect they may have a senior dominated team this year. I noticed one particularly outstanding player throughout the summer who one of the Lawrence parents identified to me as John Dekker. While not following the MWC closely, I'd be surprised if he isn't a 1st team all conference player.

As Pat would tell you, I come much cheaper than Billy Mays. I'm also a lot more available than he is right now.

John Dekker is a really good player.  However, he was not an all-conference player or honorable mention player in the MWC last year as he was over shadowed by three Lawrence U. seniors (Ryan Kroeger, Jayce Apelgren, and Chris Page).  However, I do expect Dekker to have a break out season in 2009-10.

Dekker's skills are obvious after only observing him in summer league play.

Who is the LU player with the shaved head? It seems like he has been around forever. He is pretty good too. He MUST be a senior this year!
