I thought I just said that.............. But since you've accepted the quest you must go to Saints Rest and tell Jeff that you watch CNN every day; then tell him that you switch to Fox News for the truth.

You will receive 80 copper, 1 ice cold milk and 1750 exp. points.

Off with ya.

Who knows, Beloit may have been playing a version of "The System" first.

If the system and four corners offense meet will it explode like matter and anti-matter?  I think we should commission a joint study by some of the brightest minds at Beloit and Grinnell to do an extesive multi-year study on this.

I was thinking more along the lines of the full court press and the fact that they scored more points than the other team cared for at times. Hence their removal from the conference for a while.

The Beloit College website shows only 8 players on the 2009-10 roster and zero freshmen. Obviously Beloit is not going to win very many games with the 8 guys they have and may be lucky to win any games, a near impossibility in DIII basketball. Serious question: If things do not improve soon can Beloit even continue to maintain a men's basketball team? Thinking back to the Stanley and Knapton eras, it's hard to believe Beloit baskeetball could sink to this level.

Pat Coleman

That doesn't automatically mean that no freshmen came to the school.

I don't know exact numbers but Beloit does have a few incoming freshmen (plural) this year in addition to the Bremner transfer from Lawrence. None of which are on the roster as yet.

Your guess is as good as mine about why there is a numbers problem at Beloit but it didn't start yesterday. It has been an issue ever since the JV program was eliminated and even Knapton had to bring kids in from intramural teams on occasion.

I think that at this point in the season most schools rosters will show only the returning players. Several probably haven't even been revised since last season and will still show last year's seniors.

The problem is while open gyms may have started and the players who will be part of a school's program are known, what is not known in many instances is which players will make the varsity. This is particularly the case where a school may have, lets say, 10 players returning from last season, and 10-12 new freshmen and transfers coming in. Which 5 (or more) of the new players will make the varsity roster won't be able to be determined until 2-3 weeks after practice officially begins. Also, there is the question of whether any of last year's players might be relegated to JV duty based on the skill level of the incoming players.

In Beloit's case, they better hope that in addition to numbers, some of the new players bring a little height to the court.

A lot of the schools have their full rosters posted at this point. I know Augie does, and they are usually one of the later programs to post.

The problem for Beloit is we never heard of any targetted freshmen recruits signing on during the off season. I am sure there are some warm bodies in the freshman class who might show up for tryouts, but that doesn't mean any of them are likel;y to be true DIII caliber players even in the category pof reserves.

Perhaps the new President of BC, who is being sworn in today, believes that athletics have a place at the college. His full time (not interim Niemic) predecessor certainly did not.

I'm with AndOne on this one.  How can you post an accurate roster two or three weeks before practice even starts?  Stevens Point announced their recruiting class, but that doesn't mean everyone in that class is going to make it.  They may be "grey shirted".

Anyway, only one team in the WIAC has their 2009-2010 roster posted...and it has 22 guys on it.

I guess "full rosters" could have EVERYONE from last year that didn't graduate and the incoming class/recruits.  But that's hardly matters if the full roster has 25 guys on it.

I agree it's a little early to post a current roster, but why post a roster at all, if it is not believed to be complete. What's the story on the Beloit trasnsfer from LU, and who are the poterntial freshmen players at Beloit? As someone pointed out I hope they are big guys.

Is the Bremner transfer as sure of a thing as the Hoch transfer ;D

The LU transfer to Beloit is working out with the team everyday and intends to play for the Bucs this year.  He is an outstanding athlete and very aggressive player.  He is all heart!  Unfortunately, the incoming freshmen do not feature any significant height.
