119-108 was the final in the Beloit game.

I liked the webcasts better when we had to pay to see them. Now they are free and we don't get to see them.

Webcast finally worked. 75-67 Americas Team.

Arrrghh! I hate the MWC webcasts. I'd rather have an good audio feed. Yesterday was soooo frustrating. I struggled through a miserable half of the Grinnell - Lawrence game. Blurry picture, chopped audio, whole segments missing. That, and my team was down 25 points at half.

I shut the game off and missed one of the most exciting comebacks in Grinnell history.

If you missed it, and judging from board activity you probably did, Grinnell came all the way back in regulation, took the Vikings into overtime and never looked back. Grinnell wins 112-103.

I have been wondering where the team that played that second half (and overtime) has been for a few weeks. Of course 46% shooting threes in the second half would help any team.

The 2 previous games (Beloit and Carroll) were missed opportunities that may have cost a playoff spot, but the kind of comeback the Pioneers put together yesterday, second day on the road, only means that they can spring this trap any time and in any gym. They could be a spoiler for the conference title this year and a contender next.

Great game, great heart guys.

I'm bummed I didn't get to see the game - but it sounds like I wouldn't have seen the game, short of trekking to Lawrence. Nice road win for GC!

Is there a reason Illinois College at 6-4 is not listed as "Still in the hunt."

I'll be there to cheer on the scarlet and black, and dole out some helpful hints if any of the officiating crew go astray.

Final tonight from Darby Gym, Grinnell 133 - Monmouth 92, in a game that wasn't as close as the final score indicated.

Grinnell started slowly, missing several wide open opportunities, but then caught fire, Lentsch stroked 3 consecutive 3s and Chalupa and Levin threw in a couple and before you knew it the score was 50-25. After coach Vershaw called several timeouts they narrowed the gap at half to 61-40.

Nice defense for the most part until toreador time at the end of the game. Lentsch played well and Bellamy can be exciting but prone to turnovers. Nice work by Knisley, McDonald and a very nice floor game by Scott Kaitz. That trio are seniors and they lead as seniors must tonight.

Still missing a part or two. Jesse Ney didn't play and Marques Valdez is still out, but was suited up.

The Lawrence game could be the springboard this young team needed to make a late run for a playoff spot. I would say "too late" but then I would have said too late at halftime of the Lawrence game, so for now...Lookin' good, and (cliche alert) we'll play them one at a time .

The Roop

It's a given that Ripon is going to shoot pretty well. So, bear with me on this one, when you try to play in the 50s and they already have 61 with 11 minutes left; maybe it's time to be a little less pedestrian on offense. There simply aren't enough stops to make after that point when you're trailing.

Ripon didn't win going away but they made it look easier tonight than it should have been. 86-71.

PS. And don't keep fouling when you're not scoring late. It makes the margin look deceptive.

Yep, what OBC said.

It seems like this team is peaking, which might cause problems for the mid-upper parts of the conference as we head toward the end of the season. It of course would have been nicer if they had been peaking 3 games back. But I'll take it! It's an interesting team - they've done well lately against tough teams (LU) and against struggling teams (MC).

Excellent game by many players, including some amazing 3 pointers by Lentsch (he seems to require almost no set time and does better if he's going backward and off balance). I also continue to enjoy Maher's and Bellamy's spins and moves.

I'm too disappointed right now in MC's season to ask about the game itself...I could be wrong, but it seems like it's been years since the Scots played well @ Darby.

Was wondering, though, what warranted the DeDecker technical?
