I don't know what the technical was about, and no one around me could figure it out, either. OBC?

I will say that part of MC's problem was lack of depth in their shooters. Also, they had a huge (6'10") player that could've been a threat if he was able to move more. Seems like he was a freshman, so perhaps a threat next year?

hmmm...well, the Scots obviously are lacking in a number of areas right now - didn't know if discipline should be added to that list...  Maybe coming back and having four straight home games will help a little.

I THINK DeDecker said something to the ref or made a general statement within earshot of the ref alluding to the level of aptitude demonstrated by the officiating crew in the performance of their work.

That said, I thought most of the calls went Monmouth's way, especially in the second half. And if nothing else, the officiating crew showed admirable restrain in not "T-ing" up coach Vershaw in the first half. The coach appeared to be looking for a way out of watching his team's performance. But he regained composure and went back to work.

Jeffdc, I failed to mention Mr. Maher in my earlier post and I want to correct that oversight. He had a very nice game. How about that ankle breaker crossover that caused the defender to fall down. That was pretty sweet. I like that kid more each week. He is learning how to be a college player and he will be a good one. He's quick, works hard, has a nice stroke and MAN, that crossover is deadly.

I'm too disappointed right now in MC's season to ask about the game itself...I could be wrong, but it seems like it's been years since the Scots played well @ Darby.

Was wondering, though, what warranted the DeDecker technical?

Did a little research in the online Monmouth College record books and found that there have been a few decent games at Darby for the Scots, but the last time they actually posted a win there was the 1997-98 season...so yes, it has been quite awhile.  I still remember the 152-76 beating that was dished out when I was still in school during the 2003-04 season...at least last night's game didn't turn out as bad as that one.

And weighs what, 150 lbs soaking wet, yet still keeps whapping guys with 50 lbs on him? I like it!

I have to say I'm at least a little surprise by the lack of posters/posts on the board. We don't hear anything from St Norbert fans, not much from Ripon or Carroll either. Used to be much more action here. Only The Roop holding up Beloit's end.

I'll throw out a question and maybe we can get more participation.
WHAT FOUR TEAMS WILL MAKE THE CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT?

Can your team do it? What would it take? I'll post my thoughts before Saturday's games.

The Roop

Typically it's the top 4 teams in the conference.

OBC

That's been my experience, too. Can't go wrong with that prediction. But which teams will be in the top 4, aye, there's the rub.

OBC

What......nothing? Am I the only one with too much time on his hands? I've been looking at the schedules and if you're an IC fan things look good. If you wear a hat with pointy horns on it...not so much.

jeffdc

Well, some of us are (theoretically) working  ::)

My picks:

SNC
RC
CC
GC (well, why not??)

The Roop

Wrong......................

Typically it's the top 4 but this year it will be a random draw and be held in New Roop City in CityVille.

maybe they should put all 4 contenders on court at the same time. Now that would be interesting.

I think I played a version of that one time... 4 way basketball with multiple basketballs.

For some reason, it seems like Grinnell would be pretty good at that.

I suspect GC would run and gun so much they'd end up playing themselves  :D
