I want to say it's more than 1000, 1200 perhaps, but I could be wrong. Hopefully Pat has the time to chime in and correct us.

The regional/sectional/pod system keeps the tournament within a reasonable time frame and changing it only makes the tournament longer; or at the very least increase lost class time. Changing it doesn't make any difference as to the number of teams that the NCAA has to spend travel money on.

Thanks was just curious, it looked pretty small in the photo I saw.  That's plenty big for this level.

1,000 to host a pod.

They can have separate admissions for the two games if need be.

I was in there one time. I found it pretty similar to the setup here at St. Norbert.

I expected an interesting bracket, not a ridiculous one. More than half of the host teams are likely to lose in the first round. I count only 6 that are safe. MHB, Augustana, St. Thomas, W. Conn, Wooster and Va. Wes. If the NCAAs goal was to lose money by lost revenue I think they've mastered it. Congrats !!!

I agree.  An empty gym on the 2nd night could cost them thousands of $$$.  While there is never a guarantee the host team will survive the 1st night, some of these matchups are very interesting, to say the least.

Point and Norbert in the first round. That's a Sweet 16 match up and arguably Elite 8, now one of them will be a one and done. Once again we have a national tournament but not a national championship. The NAIA sounds more appealing all the time.

Where are the College/University Presidents to do something about this nonsense. They set up the rules that the NCAA follows. So I'm not blaming the NCAA.

20 game season, everybody gets in, pay your own way until the round of 64, seed based on rankings (Sagarin or Massey, I don't care) then the NCAA picks up the tab for travel after that. Have all the divisions play their championships on the same day and at the same venue as the DI site and make some tv coin. I'm pretty sure people would tune in to see it.

DII game first (because nobody really cares) DIII then DI and fun will be had by all and you don't even need to clear the gym between games. The 5 DII fans would need be moved to Jerry Jones luxury box seats however.

Yes, I'm frustrated by this bracket.

Congrats to Scott Gillispie in being named the POY in the conference. This was an interesting year with the fact there weren't many tremendous scorers, but good teams took over.

I am not quite sure how Travis Clark made first team. That is politics at its finest, as a few of the other guys had better seasons. I guess if you make the team the year before you get it again. I thought two of the players on the second team had by far better seasons, and their teams finished the same, or better.

Scottie says: Monmouth will be going after Jimmy Les in an attempt to capture the growing female demographic of the MWC fandom away from Conger.  A "generous" expense account at Jos. A. Banks is in the fine print.   ;D

p.s. Pat Knight is also scheduled to visit as a back-up.

Starting March 17, Tucker will be in an internet vote to get into the contest. It's him vs. a player from an NAIA school.  VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
