Greek Tragedy

Sure you got the right guy? He was only 3-7 from 3-pt land.for a modest 17 pts. #31 was 6-8 from 3-land for 28 pts. I didnt see the game though...

I stand corrected. What I was remembering was some action around the 9 min mark in the 2nd half - some back to back 3s, one by #20 and the other by #31. And then a decent number of 2s from #20.

But the real challenge, I think, is that GC doesn't have a good defense against a team with a couple of solid 3 shooters. Or at least, they didn't last night.
Threes are better than twos....

Greek Tragedy

Wow. Looks like IC lead for nearly the entire game. I think the question should be is why is IC shooting 3s? 23 of them no less. Thats unheard of for a GC opponent!

Why? Because they can.  :)

Good luck to GC Honey Boo Boo tomorrow in their home matchup with IC Little Boy Blu Blu!  May the team with the most HBB Roo(p) Roo(p) win!

Ouch.. I think to myself, "Scottie can't go any lower, surely", and then I get on the message board to see that, yes, he has gone lower. Ok, Scottie, what are you going to call the 'other' Pioneers? You know, the CC kind?   :o

Sorry, ScottieFans, I was traveling and off the grid for a few days.  To answer your question, jeffdc, well....for now, I call the 'other' Pioneers "First Place."

jeffp: Never fear, the Good Guys will take care of Carroll on the next match up and give you your precious first place standing back (unless the Good Guys take care of Honey Boo Boo as well).   :)

But Scottie, they'll only be able to use that nickname for a week or two...

cciwrabblerouser

what? the vaunted grinnell scoring machine scored only 114 points?  in a whole, 40-minute game?  and lost?  at home?  to illinois college? the illinois college team that entered the game with a 3-4 record?  what happened?

maybe the coach needs to spend more time working on defense?  maybe he needs to schedule faith bible again?

my worlds are colliding.

St. Norbert looked like the team we all expected them to be against Lawrence today. Really pounded it down low and worked inside out. Very efficient offense by the Green Knights.

They also pushed LU off the 3-point line and made it very hard for them to get any offense rhythm. Good win for St. Norbert.

Been watching the webcast...plenty of open seats around Glennie Gym this evening.  Why is a rivalry game like this not scheduled on a Saturday every single time?! ::)

Good Guys BIG over "Monnmouth East," 86-61.   Also noticed a "not quite capacity" crowd from the webcast.  I can only assume (hope) that everyone else was camera-shy and sitting on the other side of the court.
