I drove to Des Moines for business last week. Stopped by Saints Rest for provisions. Apparently JeffP has sold out. They did not know who Roop was when I inquired. Rumor is that Vladimir Putin bought the place when he was in for convocation at GC.

Congrats JeffP on what I am sure is a retirement lathered in luxury.

When you are tired of that, you can always move to Appleton and become a Lawrence fan, where life is generally good but the living is not as easy as it is in idyllic Grinnell IA.

After all, that endowment pays a lot of bills.

For matters of National Security my identity is classified. In all the years of posting only once has someone figured out who I was without introducing myself first, and he doesn't post anymore. So I'm kinda like Batman. And the secret recipe for the Roopacinno is some of this, some of that and sprinkle those other things on it.

But yes Mr. Ypsi I have revealed my identity to JeffP and we've actually gone to a couple games in Cornfield County. I plan on being there in the somewhat near future at an undisclosed venue. If Beloit is playing there it would be a bonus. Mrs. The Roop will accompany me so she and Jeff can finally meet, go hug trees and burn incense in a drum circle. It kills me to say this but we will probably go there in a Subaru with Peace stickers all over it.

So, Mr. The Roop, are you saying that the Hippie Car is the only one you trust to take long distance? Of COURSE it is! And in terms of incense burning, tree hugging, drum circlers, you will be mightily outnumbered since the lovely Patricia is attending the mystery game (even though you already gave its location, date, and participants away on page #847 - for those of you who do NOT pay attention) as well. AND, since it IS stereotypically Grinnell, there may be a few more of our ilk in the stands that evening anyway.

As in life, so it is in basketball. It's all in the numbers.

Mr Ypsi - please tell your wife something you may already know; 60 is EVERYTHING it ain't cracked up to be...and my lovely and I can attest to that fact all the way through at least 66.

Oh, and Happy Birthday Mr. The Roop! I finally figured out - and became the first MWC fan to do so - the answer to my own riddle! Taking down the giraffe picture now...
