As a retired couple, we seem to be able to go away whenever we want. Even to places that don't have internet access. ;)

Can't ever seem to go to Beloit though.

Doesn't Beloit have the most wired community east of Silicon Valley?  The Ken Hendricks T-1 superhighway or something like that?

While Beloit does have the Ken Hendricks Memorial Bridge, Afton, WI is more representative of Silicon Valley however.

Grinnell at Illinois College today on ESPN3 at 1:00 PM CST. Almost makes me wish I had cable. Or sattelite. Or broadband.

So does that mean there's no way to see/hear it without ESPN3? Argh. Are they showing it on campus somewhere?

Threes are better than twos....

Taylor 30, Maher 29, Yeager 26 for Grinnell; all point guards. Interesting. And nice balance.

Scottie, you may want to check the MWC website and see who's tied for first.

Holy Bagpipes!  The saying may have gone from "In Skrivseth We Trust" to "In the FroshSophs We Trust!"  What a roster.....one junior....are you kidding me?

No word as to whether the game will be televised but it sounds like the ESPN folk will be in Beloit Saturday when Grinnell comes to town.

The point here, however, is that the 152-76 win very likely was a TEAM victory by GC and the ultimate version of the system - NOT an individual showcase - with many double digit scores, equal distribution of playing time combined with a gazillion turnovers and terrible shooting by the Good Guys, etc.  It was record-like by fluke, not by intention.

Scottie nailed it. Here's the box from that 152-76 game back in February of 2004. Twenty Grinnell players saw the floor that night, with ten of them playing double-digit minutes. Nobody played more than 17 minutes; while one of the three players who reached that 17-minute mark of playing time, Steve Wood, did score 43, you can't really call that atypical for a System team's designated shooter. Four other Pioneers besides Wood scored in double figures. Scottie also accurately described how poorly his boys played; the Scots turned the ball over 36 times and shot 44% from the field (which doesn't sound terrible until you consider how many of those misses were most likely blown layups).

Gregory: Thank you.  You are FINALLY acknowledging what the MWC regulars have known for years.   ;D

this is really starting to suck. Next GC away game is also on ESPN3. Those of us fans without cable are....out in the cold.

Aren't they hosting a big game-watching/roopaccino party at Saints Rest?  Oops, nevermind.   :(

You have to do a play by play on Twitter or something for those of us who don't have cable....

What? That you have a good memory for ten-year-old Monmouth losses? ;)

Good lord, my thumbs hurt just thinking about trying to do play by play on twitter for a Grinnell game.

Carpal tunnel anyone?  ;D :o
