Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

This post is a 10! Well done.

In less than an hour a theory will be tested. Beloit is 2-0 when The Roop wears a new Beloit hooded sweatshirt. The Roop has just put on a new one. St. Norbert, consider yourselves served.......................

Lawrence   45 36  81
Ripon        33 62  95

Ripon shoots 76% from the field in 2H, including 6/7 from 3. It didn't that Lawrence played 5:8 for much of the second half.

The Frosh/Sophs go down in Mt. Vernon, but still mathematically alive in 2014.  Keep working hard, Good Guys!

*New sweatshirt rule. The previous two, I bought, this last one was a gift and the wrong color.

Wow. Refs I didn't recognize so I thought it would be a well officiated game. Apparently the newbies get the memo about leaving the conference standings as is, because as soon as Beloit pulled within 6; blink an eye and it's suddenly a 16 point game with 9 fouls for Beloit and only 3 for St. Norbert.

Obviously the t-shirt makers have control of the conference and the same four teams must appear every year, just change the venue. MWC officiating is a miscarriage of justice.

Is St. Norbert the better team, yes. However, this game should have come down to the final possession.

Real tough home loss to IC for Grinnell tonight. On paper the officiating doesn't look so bad, but there were a number of terrible calls in the first half that gave IC all the momentum. The younger Coach Arseneault got T'd up in the second half and I am glad he got his words in... Grinnell was very cold and IC played some great defense, so I'm not blaming the loss on the refs - Grinnell was outplayed, but some poor calls turned the game into a blowout from the start.

Bring on The Good Guys. scottie I trust you will be making the trip.

:)  I'll have my assistant's assistant check my travel availability.  Should be a good game as The Good Guys try to end their current skid with a season sweep of America's Team.  (If I can't make it, I'll try to tune into the webcast.....with my BROOM!!!)  :)

And, I wouldn't be so sure about the same four names being on this year's MWC t-shirt.  One team, in particular, looks like they're in a little bit of a funk.

I was at this game and am not quite sure what you were watching in regard to the refs. During that run, according to the play by play, Beloit missed two shots and had three turnovers. St. Norbert scored on all five possessions. Not sure what the refs had to do with that. Most of the time when there's a foul difference, one team is shooting jump shots (not getting fouled) and the other team is driving to the basket and getting to the line (fouled instead of allowing easy baskets). It's usually not the refs it's what you settle for/earn.

I wasn't there or online but I will take Roop's side.  Someone has to mix it up here.  ;D

I'll admit, I'm torn on this one....  On one hand, I JUST acknowledged the Dangler as "one helluva model American."  But on the other hand, there's The Roop, who might end up being the governor of Wisconsin in the next ten years (or sooner)!  Decisions, decisions, decisions.....   ;D

Well scottie if your assistants, assistants, intern can make the trip I will count that as a scottie sighting ™. As I understand it Mav lives close enough so there won't be any pro-bono MavMoments ™ granted; especially for a weekend game.

Dangler, your team won, I get that. Ask anybody on this board, I don't complain about officiating unless it's bad.

As I see it the conference tournament starts for the Bucs on Saturday. They had one game to play with and it got away. 9-7 won't make it so it's run the table mode. Given the tie breaking scenarios a 10-6 record is likely required for them to get in. In any event, the hot dogs are still great. Why they are $2 at basketball games and only $1 at football games is beyond me. Can't be based on attendance and projected sales as you have the same number in the stands at either venue.

In the true nanny state viewpoint that persists throughout the MWC, they are trying to help you not put on the pounds during the winter months.  :o   And the cost for electricity for the Nesco roaster is higher in winter, too. Until there is a wind farm on the campus, pricing variability will continue.  :-[
