Lawrence over Monmouth 68-65.  It seemed like 3/4 of the Lawrence team had at least 4 fouls.  :-X

I would have to imagine this all but certainly makes the MWC a one bid league.

Looks like Ripon, Lawrence, Cornell, Grinnell and Beloit pick up wins - and puts LU in position to make the conference tourney
I would think as long as LU beats Monmouth, they would make the MWC Tournament at 10-8 (at worse,) unless Cornell is able to win three of their last four against Monmouth, Lake Forest, Beloit, and Monmuth as Cornell would have the tiebreaker.
Well, Cornell is not ready to give up on that MWC Tournament bid quite yet, as they knock off Lake Forest for the second time this season 66-63 today.

LU now at 10-6 with games vs Ripon and at Lake Forest remaining, while Cornell is 9-7 with games at Beloit and at Monmouth remaining.  LU is 0-2 against Ripon and Lake Forest while Cornell is 2-0 against Beloit and Monmouth.

Lake Forest's grip on a berth is loosening as well, as they now sit at 10-6 after losing twice this week with games at St. Norbert and the aforementioned game at home against LU remaining next week.

I think it already was. Neither were in the regional rankings and none of their games, I imagine, would improve their SoS.

Not hoops related. Ripon alum dies

http://www.ripon.edu/2017/02/12/acclaimed-ripon-alumnus-al-jarreau-62-dead-at-age-76/

I did see that he played HS ball at Milwaukee Lincoln.

He also played basketball, baseball, and ran track at Ripon. Graduated in 1962, one year before Dick Bennett's first year playing for the Redmen.

Gregory Sager

And there's no truth to the rumor that either Spencer Tracy or Harrison Ford played basketball while at Ripon. ;)

Yeah... things were already at "one-bid-league" prior to this game. I can't think of many teams that came from off the rankings in Week 1 to a Pool C selection especially in the Central Region. It has happened on the women's side, but the numbers were far better and the region was far deeper than it appears to be (data and criteria wise) than right now.

Halftime scores see Ripon leading LU  41-25 while Lake Forest leads St. Norbert  33-27....

If both scores hold, St. Norbert would fall into a first place tie with Ripon, however I believe St. Norbert would still be the #1 seed in the event of a tie by virtue of Ripon's loss to Monmouth.

EDIT: St. Norbert scores final six points of game to defeat Lake Forest and clinch the #1 seed in the MWC Tournament, while Ripon coasts to an 83-67 victory at LU.

So going into the final game of the MWC season, St. Norbert has secured the #1 seed and hosting privileges, Ripon has secured the #2 seed, and Cornell has clinched a berth regardless of how they do Saturday as they hold tiebreaker over both LU and Lake Forest.  (Cornell swept the season series against Lake Forest, so they get the head-to-head tiebreak with Lake Forest, and I believe that also gets them the tiebreak vs LU as both teams have the same results against teams above them in the MWC Standings.)

So Lake Forest will host LU in what equates to a "play-in" game for the MWC Tournament, as the winner will secure a bid into the MWC Tournament, while the loser sees their season end.

The tourney will be at Kress - as opposed to the sports center at UWGB.

Lawrence would nice for attendance, making it three local teams.
