Snc and underachieving in the playoffs...name a more iconic duo

Lake Forest beats St. Norbs in the MWC Tournament Championship game. One again the Green Team wins conference but not the tournament. At 19-8 are they still going to the National?

I probably don't even have to look at their SOS and say, "No!"

St. Norbert is not going to get a Pool C berth. No way, no how. Heck, the Green Knights weren't even regionally ranked last week.

Congrats to LFC. Win a few more!

Not sure about the comment about underachieving. Made it to round of 16 a few years ago, right? And this is a team with no seniors with great playing time, right?

No one here has even insinuated that St. Norbert should get an at-large. The only one asking the question seems to be you. So go crawl back under your bridge and good luck to the Cardinals in the tournament.

I'm sure the program appreciates your support. Hope to see you at the steak fry in May.

I see "quality losses" are still being rewarded by the committee. Getting an at-large when you are losing more than a third of your games is absurd. I'm not insinuating that the MWC should have gotten an extra bid, but I feel for the teams who had 3 or 4 losses that were pushed aside as the committee salivated over a nine loss NJAC and WIAC team.

EDIT: Check that, Platteville had 10 losses....this is basically a parody at this point.

Platteville was the AQ - they won the conference tournament.

If they were rewarding quality losses, Stevens Point would be in.  They had way better losses.  I suspect that because two of them were to La Crosse, they got in ahead.  I don't particularly agree with this pick; it should've been La Roche.

I wonder if that AMCC game finishing so late hurt La Roche's at large chances.

Yeah I meant UWL, who had 9 losses, still just as comical.

But look at SNC's losses...

Univ. of Northwestern - made the tournament, so not too bad
Nebraska Wesleyan - no shame there
UWEC - finished 14-12, that doesn't help
UWO - no shame there
UWRF - 11-14, that really doesn't help - especially losing by 32 (!)
Grinnell - a decent conference foe, but hardly a quality win
Monmouth - a decent conference foe, but hardly a quality win
Lake Forest - well, win this and you're in

What's the quality wins that would get SNC in? I don't see one but maybe I am missing it. Kudos for playing tough schools, but also have to win some of those games. And poor losses to RF and EC really hurt, IMO.

And I don't think anyone else in this conference has a better resume...

Maybe seeing the third place WIAC team advance all the way to the National Championship Game last year had an indirect result in La Crosse's selection this year?

As I literally said, SNC didn't deserve the bid, but other schools did, and this is becoming a tired refrain.

Did you think a WIAC 3rd place, 7-loss UWO squad deserved a bid last season?
