Heads to Bethel, about an hour away from where he grew up.

On the eve of another great D3 college basketball season, I wanted to share some interviews with former coaches in the MWC. I coached D3 basketball for 12 seasons in the state of Wisconsin. Hope you enjoy!

Episode #1 - Dave Buchanan (former Carroll University head coach)
Episode #2 - JoJo DePagter (former Lawrence University head coach)
Episode #6 - Mike Worrell (former Illinois College head coach and current Bethany College head coach)

Wow. Did the MWC really go a whole season without anyone posting? That's so sad.

I saw Ripon's schedule and I think they are looking to be an honorary member of the WIAC this year.

They play, Whitewater, Oshkosh, Platteville and La Crosse this season, along with SNC. That's a brutal non-conference schedule. They also play Coe, Carthage, Austin and U. of Dallas.

Any word on Johnny Roeser? He was their whole team vs Lakeland the other night, going for 26 and 8. Didn't even make the boxscore at Chicago tonight.

If anyone is interested in following my adventures in the Wisconsin D3 Basketball Challenge, I moved the thread to the multi regional section since it is multi regional after all. It mostly involves teams from the WIAC, MWC, NACC and the two Wisconsin based CCIW teams.

Wow. Huge win for Ripon over a good Platteville team. Yeah, they lost 4 starters(?) but received Top 25 votes in the preseason poll.

I was at the Ripon vs SNC game and they looked really good.

Ripon and SNC usually have some football holdovers.....did they play?
World travel isn't all its cracked up to be. Neither is Duluth/Superior.

Greek Tragedy

Ripon finally falls and takes the loss vs La Crosse. La Crosse is undefeated and looks unbeatable right now. Ripon has another tough WIAC opponent coming up with a trip to Whitewater.

Ripon really testing themselves with four WIAC teams this season. Pretty impressive.

Went to the Lake Forest-Wheaton game on Tuesday. As a Wheaton fan wanted to give a shout-out to the facilities guy. My Moms in a wheelchair and he gave us options on where to sit and found us a good spot where my Mom would be comfortable but still could see and then brought chairs over so my Dad and I could sit by her.

Was really impressed by the play of Alex Knight. He played hard all game, even after the deficit grew for the Forresters.

MWC tournament starts tonight. Illinois College hosts Ripon and then Monmouth plays Cornell.

Interesting to see the Illinois College game is first. Usually the host plays the late game.

I suppose the argument is that you get an extra 3 hours of rest and preparation playing the early game. But, if you're using that as an excuse after a loss, that's a pretty big copout at this stage of the season.

Pretty quiet board. Anyone have any names for the Ripon job?
