I have seen a lot of MWC games this year. While having watched LU for 10 years plus and being a fan..... I really think that LU and Carroll will play on the 18th with the only loss between them being the Carroll loss at LU earlier. I'd love to see Carroll lose at Ripon or Beloit, but I do not think it will happen. I think both LU and Carroll are two of the top 10 teams in the country. I think the game on the 18th is a toss up. If Carroll wins, my understanding is that a coin flip is the tie-breaker. That seems strange to me. It will have a heck of a impact on who gets the auto into the NCAA and the accompanying seed. My guess is that LU and Carroll get a third game in the conference tournye finals, independent of where the tourney is held.

For the record, EVERYONE has picked Monmouth over Knox so far on the pick 'em board.

Either those ahead of me in the standings are trying to protect their lead by choosing the same as me.....yeah right.... OR you all saw a couple of hubcaps fall of the wheels of the Knox van as it drove through the Quad Cities last weekend.

Will this still be considered an upset if (I mean when) the Scots win on Wednesday night?

if cc loses two more times this year (larry this week and larry in the MWC final) how does that effect their "lil" dance opportunity. a team with four loses, three from the #2 team in the nation , do they get in? compare them to a cciw team, say north central who has lost to augie and iwu multiple times, how are they affected.... i think (unless they pull an upset or two) CC could possibly be at the top of the "getting shafted" list....

I wouldn't assume Carroll will lose to LU twice. While LU is really good, I just think the law of averages comes through and Carroll wins one of these.

I hope I am wrong.

I wouldn't count on Carroll lossing to them 2 more times either. Next week at Carroll is going to be a tough game for LU. The place is going to be packed and Carroll is going to be hyped up for the game. Can't wait for next wednesday to see a great game. Remember Carroll only lost to LU at Alex by 5 earlier this year.

I think the ratings come out this week for the first time. I expect that Carroll wins out other than LU. I think the LU game(s) are toss-ups. Granted, I have not looked at all the scenarios with the QOWI or whatever it is called, but I think Carroll will be safe. I saw the early ratings by Pat Coleman on another conference board and Carroll was in the mid- 30's. that was before a couple of more victories. I think that if Carroll continues to beat the teams they should they will absolutely make the tourney.

In my world's fair, the NCAA sends LU out west (like they seem to normally do) and leaves Carroll in the midwest....and they meat in Salem.

And Beloit, after winning the automatic bid, gets sent to the mid-atlantic to help balance the region and the MWC has 3 teams in Salem. Quick, everyone hold your breath.

I dont know why Carroll keeps on getting no love from the top 25 voters. Yes Carroll is ranked 22 now I think that is a joke. Carroll has 2 loses one against oskosh by 1 and to LU by only 5. Carroll is a top 15 team in the nation and the pioneers continue to get disrespected. I hope our guys can focus on the next game against Ripon instead of overlooking them. Because that LU game will be out of control.

I don't know how the voters think but I can guess. My guess is that Carroll has flown in under the radar this year to be 18-2 at this point. Historically speaking there hasn't been much reason to tout the MWC so it's likely a reflection on the conference more than a slighting of Carroll. Oshkosh has dropped out of the poll so I don't recommend pointing to that loss as a reason to be higher than they are.

Lawrence is in the NCAA regardless of what they do the rest of the way. Carroll is also in unless they go in the tank and wind up with 5 or 6 losses. Just keep playing well and the MWC Tournament is a formality.

If it is any consolation to you, Carroll finished 19th in the Posters' Poll (with two voters placing them 12th).

That's great about who they lost to. What's important is who they beat, and if they beat Oshkosh they'd be further up in the rankings. The Whitewater win is impressive but it's the only one that is.

Amazingly, I think the Roop hit it on the head. I've said in the past that I thought Carroll should have been ranked earlier in the season, and ironically, they didn't get in until they lost to Lawrence. Go figure. Now, with only Lawrence left on the schedule that has any credentials in the nation's eyes and other poster's eyes, it's tough for Carroll to jump up the polls. For one, the MWC has hardly been a historically strong conference and with Carroll playing the likes of Ill. College (7-12), St, Norb's (5-15), Lake Forest (5-15) and Knox (10-9) will hardly win over more voters. Sorry boys. But, you'll basically guaranteed a Pool C bid if Lawrence takes the conference tourney, and vice versa. I'd take that any day over some internet ranking that the NCAA could care less about! But we love it!
