Glad to see it. Especially glad to see that it wasn't even close on the first place votes. Still a little "homering" going on out there though. Not sure how Wooster rates 2 votes when they lost a winnable game; and no I don't care that it was on the road.

Carroll stayed in the top 15, that's good, thought they might have dropped more than one place. Then again I'm shocked that they didn't jump to #1 having beaten "Americas Team" on the road.

Carroll's performance jumped them to #3 on my poster's poll ballot.  It's what you deserve for taking the #1 team to the last possession.

Yeah, there might be some homer voters in Ohio, but at the same time, with the success that program has had recently, I can't blame them too much.

I concur.  A great showing by Larry U and Carroll also looks strong - only dropping one spot.  Go MWC!!

Hoops,

Your ballot is your ballot but #3 is a little high I think. Carroll is very good but they're not a Top 10 team. If a third meeting does occur Lawrence has already won the war but Carroll can win the battle. Carroll can get up and down the floor in a hurry and Lawrence is vulnerable to the transition game.

RE: Midwest Conference Tourney Ticket Policy

What a joke.  I'm sorry.  I wrote a representative of Lawrence University to find out how I can order tickets to both nights' games this weekend.  I was told tickets are only available at the door.  What a shame.  What if fans out of town want to attend the games and we WORK!  What about the fans of Carroll, Grinnell and Knox?  They have to show up at 2 pm and stand in line for 3 hours even if your team doesn't play until the late game?  A total disregard to traveling fans and an obvious attempt to shut out visiting supporters knowing local fans of Lawrence have a huge advantage.

I wonder if I can can Carroll, Grinnell or Knox even though there wasn't any mention of tickets set aside for those schools.  Any thoughts of how I can obtain tickets?

Compared with the rest of the voters, Hoops did get rather enthusiastic - with seven ballots in so far, the next highest ranking for Carroll is 9th.  The votes are all over the place so far, with a median of 13th (range: 3rd to 21st).  It seems no one is quite sure WHAT to do with them!

Congrats to Tharp and the Vikes.  They are a deserving #1.  Hell, if they moved LU to Ohio they would have been #1 at least 4 weeks ago.   ;)

But then they would not have so many hot groupies, as everyone knows that is the secret to their success, beautiful fan support.   ::)

Don't you think the stress of not losing a game all year, and being #1 will cost LU a chance to win it all?  Maybe they should have lost a game or two and made a run at a title instead of a #1 ranking. ;)

The Roop

Flip,

Had Lawrence crushed every opponent and gone unchallenged this year you would have a good point. But they were challenged several times and always found a way to win on their less than best performances. They've had their "scare" already and I think they are ready to go. Do they win the National Championship ??? That's up to the NCAA and the seedings. It wouldn't surprise me to see Lawrence in Salem however.

YES, they are worthy of the ranking. I've seen lots of Top 10s over the years and LU belongs there. Harper and the gang at North Park would probably run them out of the gym, but when has there ever been a DIII team stacked like they were ?.
