Not sure when the D3hoops.com All-America team is announced, but yesterday the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America Team was announced:

Illinois Wesleyan's Keelan Amelianovich is the Academic All-American of the year...Chris Braier of Lawrence is on the 3rd team.  Great honors.

Thank you Master Yoda.

The Roop kills me... :D
You're not a member of the Elks Club are you, Jordis? If you are, there is a chance "The Roop" could do just that.

I've seen the pictures.  :D

For those not in the know like me, you can actually trade in your LU season tix for a BA degree at Ripon (diploma included) and still be able to get a Kia Sorento and THREE corn dog bars with the 6 NCAA tix...perfect for all the thrift shoppers out there.   ;D

That's funny.  Yeah I had a cousins that went to Lawrence.  I have a job, got one the year after I was done, and he does not have a job.  I started my teaching career.  God bless him, he is working in Colorado growing his beard.

Anyone famous go to Lawrence?  Just curious.  Didn't Harrison Ford go to Ripon, or something like that?  Like it matters...  ;)

I'm not sure about Lawrence, but JeffP would be happy to give you a run down of all the famous people to come through GC, I know, I've got first hand experience on that one.  It's actually pretty interesting.

Jeffrey Jones (of Principal Ed Rooney fame) went to LU and the rumor is that he once crashed his car into Sage Hall.

One of our trustees is Campbell Scott, a little known actor who played opposite Julia Roberts in the tearjerker, "Dying Young". When you get to kiss Julia Roberts, that has to count for something ;-)!!

On a different note, all the posts about ticket numbers are making my head spin. This is why I was a history major instead of math - numbers suck!!

Campbell Scott is a trustee?  I mean, I appreciated his acting as much as the next guy, but a Trustee?

By the way wasn't Jeffrey Jones just sentenced to like 15 years in prison for Child Molestation?  I'm sure the LU administration loves people to know where he went to school.

Yeah, the Jeffrey Jones thing recently wasn't good, but at least he graduated from LU (unlike Harrison Ford at Ripon). Now you have me questioning myself - I think Campbell is a trustee, but now I'm not sure.

Just got my Sports Illustrated and Peter Brown is in the "Faces in the Crowd" section. He is a senior swimmer at Grinnell and won a bunch of titles in the latest MWC Championships. I know this isn't a swimming and diving board, but, by my count, that makes 4 MWC athletes in SI this year (Tanney for football, Braier and Hinz - basketball, and now Brown). Good to see the conference getting some national pub...

I just checked the Lawrence website, Campbell Scott is indeed a Trustee of the University, although he does look oddly out of place.  But what do I know, maybe he's very good at it.

Harrison Ford did go to Ripon, however he did not graduate.....but if you get a chance, don't bring it up to him....kinda a sour subject.

Also, Dick Bennett went to Ripon.  He finished.
