That's great Pat!  Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet you and some of the other regular posters.  A head's up, if you can pick, I'd recommend that you not sit atop the bleachers to broadcast the games.  I did color commentary with larry_u during my junior year and I'm sure he'd attest to the fact that its a little...cozy...up there if there are two broadcast teams in action (and LU's will be).

I assume there will be 3 broadcast teams for every game - both teams, then NCAAsports.com.  Is there room for all 3?

Actually, I was thinking about this...it'll probably be 4.  IUW, LU, NCAA Sports, and Appleton's AM sports radio station.  I'm betting LU can handle all 4, but I'm not sure what it would look like logistically.  Have you contacted LU's AD about arrangements yet? Bob Beeman is a great guy and I'm sure he'd be happy to work with you to figure out an arrangement that would be amicable for everyone.

Pat Coleman has spoken with him today...and we'll have a line to broadcast...

Don't know where we will be located though as I am not familiar with the setup.

JUSTINTYEM

There is room for one broadcast crew at the Table, and that is used by AM1150 WHBY or AM1570 WSCO.So the top of the Bleachers might be your best option.

Lawrence's sports information director assured me there would be room for the NCAA's official broadcast of the sectional.

I'm sure someone has posted this article before, but I just wanted to point something out.

Its resume is the most impressive one in the entire country — no matter what anybody thinks of the Midwest Conference...

:D Looks like the Post Crescent guy has been reading posting up.  ;D

Don't worry Mike Woods, thanks to me, the excellent Vice President, theCabinet/Ministry type thing, and the great people of the United States of the Midwest Conference, and not to mention the Lawrence basketball team, the greatness of this Conference is known across the lands.  :D :D :D

Congrats to Lawrence for the hosting rights! A very much deserved honor!  ;)

I love JVA.  :D  I'm excited for this weekend.  This is a spot that is better than LU fans could have dreamed up.  4 radio crews for an LU game? (including national coverage?).   ;D

I know a win is a win and everyone is rightfully revelling in it, but no comments about how Lawrence let the Tommies back into the game in the second half?  That seems quite uncharacteristic for this LU team.  Don't they generally pull away from teams with their discipline and ballhandling towards the end?  That concerns me a little.  Of course, in my bracket, this next game in for the National Championship, so it should be a good one all-around.

Congrats to LU and tough luck for Carroll.  I guess the IWU guys decided to show up.  That could be trouble for everyone else.

Hoops - I was at the game and I would agree with you that the way they let them in at the end of the game was a little disturbing. I actually expected them to be down at half and then pull away (superior depth, etc.). A win is a win I suppose, but it wasn't as convincing as I wanted.

In my assessment (sorry if I am repeating others, but I haven't checked the board since Friday and don't have time to go through all the posts since then), the St. Thomas coach told his players at half to get it to their low post guy (#42) who LU shut down completely in the 1st half. After they got down big (14-15) with about 5-8 minutes left in the game, he switched back and gave #3 more freedom to shoot 3's. He was amazing. LU actually played decent defense on him, but he just got hot. While they made it more exciting than it should have been, I think it would have been much closer throughout had #3 been given the greenlight the entire second half instead of just at the end.

As has been said many times on this board, LU doesn't always "look like a number 1 team" (whatever that means), but they get the job done and that is the important part.

Congrats to them and the staff for putting on a great show on Saturday and being able to host the sectional. It was an awesome atmosphere and very well run. Obviously the team deserves a lot of the credit for earning the right to host, but I want to give my kudos to the Athletics staff for their AWESOME work on Saturday - they did a phenomenal job!!

Yeah, the height difference bothered me with the potential IWU-Larry match-up, but I figured the discipline LU has and the depth would help make up for it.  Now, I'm worried about how that will all play out, especially with the way IWU came out in the second round.

Sam J, where art thou?

Glad that Larry gets to host another game.  Did they actually put up bleachers on the other side, or was that a myth?
