::) Wow. For half a page I thought Justin had calmed down and found the same class that the team he roots for posesses.

It was fun while it lasted.

Let me add my congrats to the Bopper and the Josten's award. A well deserved bit of recognition. We'll miss you.

My two cents:

I really believe Illinois Weslayen has the obvious advantage with height and ability, but what could and hopefully will be the x-factor is Alexander gym.

The reason I feel it's one of the toughest places to place is the strange arrangement of bleachers and wall set-up...and even basketball rims.  One hoop has a wall in the backround, the other doesn't.  One hoop seems to be a quarter inch taller then the other...maybe that's just the illusion of having a wall and not having a wall.  When Illinois Weslayen warms up, they will be at the hoop that seems lower....you can shoot 3's from waaay outside the arc and they fall in...the rim is softer therefore you get better bounces (this is unless the NCAA forces LU to sit on the left side of the scores table making them have to shoot at the wall end first).  Then you come back from half-time and the other side seems a lot taller...dunks are harder to come by in warm-ups :) and the rim is tighter.  On the other hand, LU is now on the "good" side and they get all the bounces and rolls that the "wall side" creates.

I swear I'm not making this up.  I don't know if any other players felt the same way, but it is definitely a home-court advantage.  Because of this unusual home-court advantage, along with the crowd, I don't think Ill. Weslayen will shoot as well as they did at UWW.  I feel the home turf will pull LU to a victory.

I just think that if you dont have anything good to say about something, then why go there. If I dont like the way someone does something,or if i dont like someone I wont go and put my hand in that fire. Not trying to be a Dick but you have to see my point of view. These people are always bagging on a School that I have become very fond of over the last 8 years since i moved to Appleton from waupaca.

Are your CRAZY?!? Miss the Bopper? Man, the GC BBall team is halfway through the biggest celebration the College has ever seen! Miss him, my Keester! Iowa West-Lay-in ( ;D) probably won't miss him much either!

Congrats to Mr Braier for a well deserved honor. Trading blocked shots for blocked arteries or something of the sort?

AND JUSTINTYEM moves ever closer to his goal. We really appreciate that you don't try to attack people or schools, J. It helps keep this board so pristine.

Has anyone found the "eject" button yet?

Got your back on this one mWc.  It really seems that way.  We are not trying to say Larry makes it this way, like the old hangar in Grinnell ;), but it definitely feels like it.

I'm not sure if you were ever a student or not, but either way, apprantly you never picked up a sense of humor from them.  I thought the IWU guys were sensitive.

i think Larry will have less of a home adv. than most sectional hosts.  it is extremely easy to shoot in Alex,  small homey feeling confines, makes every shot feel good.  kinda like playing at MC, unfortunately everyone shoots well there.  also alex may be the only gym in wisconsin wher the thermostat actually works.  it isnt the usual wisconsin 40 degrees in Alex so it is easy for the visitors to get loose.  mwc4life was correct in saying one of the rims is real soft, hell even i hit a couple a shots at the Alex.  the biggest non advantage will be the size of the crowd, hate to say it but i think IWU probably faced a lil more of a menacing crowd when they were at Augie than they will face at Alex.  remember the crowd will not be completely Larry U there are 4 teams playing this weekend and that should dissapate the partisan (or non partisan) crowd.  Larry might have been better off playing at the cavernous gym in Depere, wi.  as a visitor it is just easy to get comfortable with the surroundings....

I could be wrong, but I doubt it....

It's a split-session sectional, which means that the Augie and Puget Sound fans will clear out after their game. The tickets for the Illinois Wesleyan @ Lawrence game are not being split between four schools, just two.

Yeah, but as evidenced by this very board, there will be fans from at least three (I suspect all four) of the schools at both games.

jeffp, I'M SICK OF YOU TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!!!  YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME.  I CAN COME TO THE HANGAR WHETHER IT IS THERE OR NOT.

;) :D ;D :o
Ok, sorry I don't mean to pick on people but it is all in good fun.  Speaking of which, I haven't seen the new hangar at GC, but I kinda miss the old one even though.

I think IWU will have a formable crowd to face at Alex.  LU brings out some good fans, and now with the band wagon, I bet Alex will be packed with Larry fans and it will be loud!!!

Anyone know if IWU is bringing the band?
