I mentioned it at the time...I was impressed by St. N late in the year.  They looked like a different team the second time LU played them.  They played hard and were pretty quick.  I think they could challenge in the near term.

Word on the street at the end of the season was that they cut their practices in half and noticed immediate improvement. Sounds like they were being run into the ground prior to that. The source is a certified NRO Field Rep so I'm sure it's true.

That's because I bat left handed and a very distant relative owned the Yankees when Ruth played for them. Very distant = I didn't inherit any of his money.

Who's Augie?

Could you be more specific ?. For now all I can say is Augie is a guy in the shipping department at the company I work for, he does receiving as I understand it. Don't have that much contact with him so I'm sorry I can't give you anymore information.

OS,

My memory of the 'holiday/break' window for being in-region was that it was not shot down, but only tabled for now.  Ralph?  Pat?

Back from page 273,  The holiday break item was tabled at the January Convention.  I don't think that they have the logistics worked out to roll it out across all of the sports.

I would have the in-region rule work this way.

1)  In-region for the respective evaluation regions.  We need evaluation regions so that the evaluators are close enough to the teams that they know.  Then a representative goes to the national committee.
2)  All conference games are in-region.   This impacts the UAA, the SCAC, the NEAC and even the ASC in a couple of sports.
3)  200-mile radius rule.  Naturally proximate opponents in different evaluation regions.
4)  200-mile venue rule.  If you travel to a contest or tourney venue within 200 miles of your campus, anyone in that region or within 200 miles of that venue is an in-region game.  A Midwest Region team travels 200 miles to a Great Lakes venue for a basketball tourney with 3 other Great Lakes teams.  All combinations of games would be in-region.
5)  The four geographic regions.
6)  Seven-day school holiday rule.

I would offer the opportunity for a team to play a D3 school and not have it count on their record.  Baseball has this all of the time.  Why should Ripon come to Texas for a working spring training and catch 3 Texas schools that have 12-15 games under the belt.

So Ralph, are you saying you want just the four geographic regions or do you want to stick with the eight regions we have now?

So rumor is that both MSOE and Clarke were snubbed by the mighty MWC.  Any confirmation on that?
