Um, I hate to burst the quinella here, but although I maintain the constant superiority of macs and absolutely love the new tv ad campaign, I am at work right now and therefore using a really inferior Dell.  The only redeeming quality is the ultra high resolution and 17" widescreen which makes movies on flights a real joy.  The spyware, on the other hand, makes me long for my apartment and my four year old ibook with OS9; that's right, none of those big cats for me!

Wow. Board activity two days in a row. I'm gonna ruin the conversation with something basketball related though. We've all heard about Grinnells endowments, how much was it Pre-System ??

And since they can obviously afford it. How about giving Beloit $50,000,000 for their new science building. That way they don't have to pimp the science students out for big whigs in Chicago and beg for hand outs. The breakdown as I understand it is $20,000,000 for the building $10,000,000 for the general/maintenance fund and another $20,000,000 for scholarships. Think of it...... The Grinnell Centre for the Scientific Arts at Beloit College, or some other fancy name like that. All I want is my own Saints Rest Franchise in the lobby.

Sorry, Mr "The Roop". Grinnell is already building the Grinnell Science Centre...in Grinnell. Should be done in a few more months. I will petition the Trustee building committee to name a room the 'Beloit Room', though I think 'Romper Roop Room' would be more appropriate...

Grinnell's Pre System endowment was around 500,000,000-17 years ago. Thats about 1.4B using adjusted figures for today's financial markets.

Hmmm. That is EXACTLY where the endowment is right now, too!

I just realized that you actually bothered to figure that out! 

Well it was just eight minutes.  The times of each post are logged right there.  Now if it had been like 352 minutes, that would have been pathetic, but give me some credit on being able to subtract single digits.  I might not be from the Midwest, but I did master arithmetic at some point.

For the lucky science geeks in Beloit embarking with big shots at the Chicago Club.  I've heard that Saints Rest is interested in a Wisconsin location, and a donation is in the works.......Possibly in the lobby, right next to Dog-n-Suds South.........

Actually it will be a Saints Rest Express. Serving only Roopacinnos and corn dog ice cream. Haven't heard a thing about Dog-n-Suds opening in the new building, so I think you're making that up.
