Schools in d1 that play team ball are just doing so because they can't get the top individual recruits.  I'm all for team ball, that's why I'm a d3 fan, but d1 hoops just don't play that way anymore, not at the top tier anyway.

I thought I'd make a quick trip over here from the D3football site...which is actually "discussing" most things D3 football - as opposed to muffins and the LeBronians.  ;D

But I did find one recent posting that warranted a response.  My answer:  Watch a U of Illinois game.  They've had a little success playing team ball the last few years.

Incidentally, this is a bit of an obscure reference, but as an appreciator of the muffin, you may wish to know that I own two muffin top pans to make muffin tops out of. I like them cause you get more of the good part of the muffins, and they end up looking a lot like cookies!  8) :D

Just don't give the stumps to the homeless...... :D

Those homeless are just ungrateful.  Sure the tops are better, but I'd take a free muffin stump and day of the week, and I'd say thank you, too.

Heck yeah I'd take a free muffin stump.  I kinda want one right now, even though I just ate lunch. :D

Oh yeah,

Okay, maybe it wasn't an obscure reference. :D

The Gourmet magazine recipe for muffin tops, where my sis and I first heard of the concept, specifically mentioned the Seinfeld episode.

It took me a few years to find muffin top pans, cause they're only available at speciality baking stores... but they're really fun!

Did you know there is more than 8000 minutes of Seinfeld released on DVD...and yes, I've seen all of them (many of them twice).

Just felt you'd want to know this--especially the Roop.

Good find, Titan!

JeffP can help me.......... ;D

The Roop

Typically I don't copy and paste joke emails on the board, but in this case I'll make an exception as it mentions a subject that is sometimes discussed here. Quite by accident actually as it came from a friend in Australia................

There are two guys who have been lost in the desert for weeks, and they're at death's door. As they stumble on, hoping for salvation in the form of an oasis or something similar, they suddenly spy, through the heat haze, a tree off in the distance.

As they get closer, they can see that the tree is draped with rasher upon rasher of bacon. There's smoked bacon, crispy bacon, life-giving juicy nearly- raw bacon, all sorts.

"Oh my, Pepe" says the first bloke. "It's a bacon tree!!! "We're saved!!!" says his mate.

"You're right!" says Pepe.

So Pepe goes on ahead and runs up to the tree salivating at the prospect of food. But as he gets to within five feet of the tree, there's the sound of machine gun fire, and he is shot down in a hail of bullets. His friend quickly drops down on the sand, and calls across to the dying Pepe.

"Pepe!! Pepe!! What on earth happened?"

With his dying breath Pepe calls out "Ugh, run, run!! It's not a Bacon Tree
- it's a Ham Bush!"

on a basketball note....i just heard that Josh Hinz has gotten a pro deal to play in Ireland. that makes 2 from the MWC. anyone know the last time 2 players from the conf. in the same yr got deals. i remember Hanula from SN a cpl of yrs ago. is there anyone else?

also are there any comments on what people think of their teams for the up coming season?

The Roop

I'd be more interested in knowing why.....................

1. Somebody can't break a deuce in the first game when everybody else on the team is going off the sheet.

2. Why was Horton on crutches Saturday.

I remember that Braier ate him alive last year after Hinz was a "Face in the Crowd".  He scored like 11 points, and 7 of them were after Tharp set Braier down because LU was up by 25 or more.  Maybe they don't play defense in Europe.

European chicks are hot, though.   And they like scorers.  ::)

I was in Ireland a couple weeks ago and in a week of driving, I only saw one basketball court in the whole country.  There might not be that much competition for him.

Enjoyed the ham bush joke quite thoroughly.
