Regarding being eligible and full-time status: One exception to the rule is that a student-athlete can be part-time and still be eligible his final semester if he/she is taking the final courses necessary to finish his/her degree.

Is that how Sager had time to play in his last semester and had time to get nominated for the Pulitzer?

North Park has fielded some notoriously bad teams in various sports over the years, but if the school had ever scraped the bottom of the athletic barrel to the point where the likes of yours truly was needed to suit up and take the field -- in any varsity sport -- then the board of directors would have been better off shutting down the entire athletic department.

Is Debate a varsity sport?  I'd take Mr. Gregory Sager with my #1 pick.  He or Frank "The Tank" from Old School (the movie, not me).

I was going to suggest extemporaneous ranting, but "debate" works well too.  Plus it's far more kind.

Since Spike TV didn't have Star Trek TNG today I wandered over to the Science Channel. Something about memory loss after 30 something about memory loss after 30 and then getting worse after 40. Interesting. Not sure how much faith I have in their new "Dino Lab" program that they just advertised. Why are they still digging in the ground to learn about dinosaurs ?? For crying out loud just send a team down to Isla Sorna or Isla Nublar. That plumbing supply place in Oklahoma can arrange the visas.

I thought the board had taken that action several years ago...

Tell it to NPU's nationally-ranked men's soccer team, digs. The Vikings have won the last two CCIW championships in that sport, and are favored to win it again this year.

See, it rings true again.  Tell someone they can't do something and what's the next thing they do...

A little basketball news from the St Norbert page.

Old I know but if it was posted here before I missed it.

Should be about time for teams to begin posting rosters.  Any additional rumblings on top recruits, players not returning, etc?

finally found out websites to keep tabs on what Hinz has been doing in Ireland. His team is the Dart Killester club. the web site is www.killester.com. and theres a link on there to see what the whole super league is doing. its www.basketballireland.ie

it looks as thouhg Josh is being the prolific scorer over there that he was in college. his team is 2-0 and hes ave 25 pnts and 10 rbnds .

ive been searching the web for info on Briar. does anyone have any links to his teams info or the league he's playing in? How has he been doing? I think its soo cool to have the 2 best players from last season playing pro ball. I know Briar must be having success as well because he's just too good not to.

I fianlly had a chance to stop by beloit last week. watched the guys playing some open gym. Andy Horton looks like he's ready to step right into Hinz's shoes and pick up alot of the scoring and rebounding. The 2 seniors Fiek and Hendry look very good as well. We'll see if the soph point can build on the fact he  strarter as a freshman and have more impact this year. Beloit has a big 6'8" frosh. He has some real potential. The is also this frosh from illinois that looks to be very very good. hes about 6'3" or 6'4". He looks like he'll take over Towns spot at the off guard. Bysted is just flat out fast. I didnt see Tubbs and asked around and was told he's not in school this semester but may be back next semester. That takes some the bucs post depth away.

But the guys seem very excieted about the upcoming season and they believe they're gonna be at or near the top of the league. As always with practices being able to start today i want to wish the whole league much good luck (especially Beloit...go get em Buc's)

He's at BK Amager, the defending champs of Denmark.  I don't speak Danish, but I'm guessing there might be stats on the team's homepage.  Although, you never know.

Here's the actual team site, for those of you fluent in Danish.  And hey, this is the MWC room, so you never know.
