Makes you wonder if Carroll has actually required their players to attend class or something. Hmmmmm.

That was the rap on Ripon, but they seem to be able to hang around for 4 years.   You may need to commission an NRO investigation.

T2K,

I realize that UW-Ripon Tech was at one time a huge rival of Beloit College, however, those times were long ago so I harbor no ill will towards them today. Therefore, I choose not to make fun of their past academic standards as things may have changed in the last 20 years. Who knows, perhaps two Ripon athlete students could combine their ACT scores and almost get one of them into Beloit or Lawrence.

No need for an NRO investigation at this time unless they suddenly start living up to expectations.

Sorry, you can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours.

Sorry Roop, I tried.

As they started out as characters in a nearly X rated role playing game I hesitate to consider their opinion on such a serious subject. And they sold out to a national chain, Dominos, when the movies came out. (which I never bothered watching) So I'm not sure they ever have had a "real" pizza to begin with.

The coolest thing by far about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie were the actors who provided the voices for the Turtles. Robbie Rist (Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch), Brian Tochi (Takashi from Revenge Of The Nerds), the inimitable Corey Feldman ... those guys out-bratted the Brat Pack.

T2K,
Didn't you go to Oshkosh? ???  So you didn't even get into LU.

Roop,
As a "generation X"-er I grew up with the Turtles, ergo I value their opinion on such matters.
Asssuming you are/were too old for the Turtles then I'm sorry.  You are missing out (or I should say you missed out)

I agree with early.  The first Ninja Turtles movie featured the scene of alphabetical insults (some of which were profanity in my upbringing).  As a young child, that was a truly transforative moment in my life.

Early:

I will be brutally honest--while my ACT scores would have got me into LU,  the well being of my family precluded that possibility.  We just couldn't afford it.  And there was no way my parents were gong to mac and cheese it for me, even though they would have.  I just wouldn't let it happen.

I hope when my kids are that age they will have the choice to attend where they want assuming they qualify for admission.  That is a long ways off so I am working to make that posssible.

On this election day, despite the gloom that hovers with the possibility that Jim Doyle could be our governor and Steve Kagen our Congressman, I believe that the next generation can still be better than the last.  With those two yahoos in office, however, it will only make it harder.

Better to have yahoos in office than actually doing things.

Did you really start talking about education of the next generation and then complain about Doyle????

I'm a tail end "boomer" so I missed out on the Turtle craze by a few years. I did watch them a few times but thought the concept was a bit far fetched. Don't really have any problem with them other than the theme music on the cartoon was a bit annoying. It's also worth pointing out that I was involved with 1 of 3 at the time (LU Class of 89) so I wasn't allowed many fun things. Unless of course it pleased the aristocrisy. I retaliated eventually. She'd drag me to the Opera House for the Nutcracker and I'd drag her to Rupp Arena when the WWF came to town.

T2K,

Don't worry about the karma thing too much. I nearly broke my all time high and Hoops would have lost his mind if that happened. LOL.
