Yep, saw that, I'm glad we got that info so I can make sure I've got a couple of tickets for me and the better half.  I'd hate to drive all that way and have to sit behind the band! ;)

...I'm not going to set myself up for great tickets, though... won't get there until right at tip-off if not a bit later.

I have been monitoring the live stats for the Ripon vs. Buena Vista game this evening.

Obviously, I couldn't see the game, but the early stats indicated that Ripon was sharing the ball and everyone was scoring until Johnson got hot and took over...Ripon led by 20 at halftime and 20 minutes into the season I was convinced they were for real.

Then last year's team came out of the locker room...limited touches for Schmitting and few shots for Johnson (uncharacteristic, especially when he's hot), while McMullen, Wise and Brown piled up missed shots. BV outscores Ripon by 20 in second half to force OT, where they beat Ripon 85-80

What a frustrating loss for RC

Any Carroll fans coming to the Point game tonight, feel free to throw something at me (or just say hi  :o).  I'll probably have a NY Rangers jacket on and a black Partypoker.com hat on.

ft2006-
Buena Vista has always been a very well coached team-even during down years. There probably isn't a better tactical coach in the midwest. I wouldn't sell Ripon stock just yet; everything i've heard is that Ripon will be a contender this year.

Roop, are you going to the Beloit game?

For everyone else, I noticed the MWC website now has the webcasts and stats linked under composite schedule...Monmouth's agme aginst Central Missouri  has radio, but I think they are DII or DI-AA, so tonight  looks a good night to listen to Beloit and monitor Carroll's stats aginst UWSP. I hope the Bucs and Pioneers get off to a good start.

I should also add that tonight would also be a good night to get a life, but I don't see that happening. Ripon up 11 on Viterbo with a minute left.

This was a game I planned on attending but I can't get two road trips out of my last check. I'll catch their next one in Whitewater as I'll be down for Thanksgiving. As for MSOEs webcast tonight............... THEY LIED.

CMSU is a D2 and usually a good one. No offense to Monmouth but they will do well to stay within 30 points.

Just got back from checking out some minnesota sports all day....what the hell happened to Carroll?  Did they play that bad or is UWSP that good?

personally larryu, that's about what I would expect out of carroll this year. I think they were a borderline top 25 team with Toshner on the roster, but without him they lose size from an already small squad that lacks depth at the 4 and 5.

They will probably beat some good teams this year when they are shooting well or get the transition game going because they do have some talent. But I dont think they have anyone who can guard a decent sized (6-3 - 6-6) athletic wing player. Krull killed them tonight. The seasons young, they may prove me wrong yet.

Beloit goes down in their opener to MSOE.  Thought Dowden looked much improved and he was clealry looking to score more.  Bit surprised that Horton did not get off to a better start but foul trouble with him and several others.

None of the newcomers did anything that I would consider special but depth does seem somewhat improved.

With Augie next followed by Whitewater if would have been nice to get in the win column with this one.

POINTS IN PAINT                 1   2 - Tot
Beloit College Buccaneer      8   8 -  16
Milwaukee Sch Eng Raider  16  12 -  28

2ND CHANCE POINTS           1   2 - Tot
Beloit College Buccaneer       5   5 -  10
Milwaukee Sch Eng Raider     8   7 -  15

Not the best copy and paste as far as columns lining up goes but it shows what Hortons 3 fouls in 61 seconds led to. Moral of the story is "just because you block one shot does not mean you should try to block them all". I wasn't there but I've witnessed this phenomenon before. According to the play by play that's exactly what happened again.

"Missed lay-up" seems to be another common occurrence in the play by play and several share the distinction. Gotta finish, gotta finish, gotta finish. While this game certainly wasn't a gimme, it was probably one that Beloit should have won. Looks like an 0-3 start to the season is looming. All is not lost however. Provided they can get their 5th win before their 5th loss they will be in good shape when "conference only" play begins.
